M Allison and Mrs. W. H. Kenimer drove to For¬ sythe, Ga., last Friday where Margaret Kenimer was attend¬ ing Bessie-Tift College. Marga¬ ret returned home with them to spend her vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Romines, of Detroit, Michigan, spent a week here as guests of Mrs. Romines’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irben Coffey. Mrs. Mary Whetzell has been ill at her home. Her mother, Mrs. Mattie Parks, of Chatta¬ nooga, has been visiting here the past week. Mr. Charlie Moore is a pa¬ tient at Ownbey’s Clinic. Mr. Kenneth Moore, Mr. £rank Whetzell, Mr. Fred Da¬ ley Jr. and Mr. James Lancas¬ ter enjoyed a week end fishing trip at Bridgeport, Ala. The usual results were reported No Big-Ones, even the little ones got away. Mr. and Mrs J. H. Hallum visited their daughter Mrs. Jenie Weeks in Blue Ridge last week. Mrs. Bill Fuggat visited her daughter, Mrs. Joe Blevins, during the last two weeks. Kines and boys Joe and Johnny ,of Bessemer, Ala., visited Mr. and Mrs. Pritts Schurch over the weekend. Mrs. Schurch returned home Friday after a weeks visit with her daughter, Mrs. Marvin Dood at Ider, Ala Mrs. P. P. Slatoh, of Tren¬ ton, has returned home after a two week’s visit with relatives here. . Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dou¬ glas and daughter Martha Hr ace, of Nashville, Tenn., Misses Willie and Birdie John¬ son, of Atlanta, Miss Grace Johnson and Miss Athene Holtzhower, of Chattanooga. Clark Lewis, of LaFayette, and Mrs. L. E. Holtzhower were all week end guests at a house party with Griff Johnson at the old Johnson Home place. Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Holtz¬ hower attended the memorial services at the National Ceme¬ tery in Chattanooga last Fri- day. Their son Edgar who was killed in a naval accident fol¬ lowing World War II, is in¬ terred there. Mr and Mrs. Loyal Griffith, of Flintstone, visited Mr. and Mrs. Holtz¬ hower last Sunday. Mr. Grif¬ fith is home on furlough from the U. S. air corps. Mrs. Kathleen Forester was taken seriously ill on last Thursday and was rushed to a Chattanooga hospital At this writing she has shown some slight improvement .
