Among (.00(1 Things In Life Coke ItY The Carton | IN MEMORIAM the early hours of Sun- day morning the community of New Salem lost one oi na- ture’s noblewomen — “Aunt Nan’’ Collins. When we say “goodbye” to her, we are clos¬ ing a door forever on many wonderful things: A woman who was great be cause she was, really good; a woman who was poor material wealth but rich helpfulness; A woman who kept alive in 'our community the charm of simple country living; a woman who was always clean in her person and clean in her mind; | A woman who was deeply (religious and devoted to her j church; . a woman who shared her im im- 'maculate cottage with hun- Wads of visitorss and kii ; A woman who lived wu’i hardship and pain uncom¬ plainingly; A woman whose personal sufferings gave her deep un¬ derstanding and ready sym- pathy for the sufferings of 'others; A woman who performed her daily small chores about home and form with an attention to detail that turned each one ino artistry; A woman who never stopped to go'sip or uttered a cheap or vulgar word: A woman whose innate dig¬ nity made her “at home” in any gathering. In the passing of Mrs. R. W. !Collins our community has lost its great lady—a term that wuld have embarrassed her, for , c he was too modest to value herself other than just a “good wife and mother.” . We shall never see her like again! Fannie Mennen.
