THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29, 19.>3 Dade Ball Club League Champs Dade defeated Harrison 13 to 6 to win the Volunteer League playoff Harrison Bay won the first half, and a late and shakey start in the first half, Dade came in strong to win the second half. Jimmy Johnson led Dade at bat with 4 for 5> while Paul Castleberry had 3 for 5. Doug Carter who has been the main pitcher, held the Bay- men to 8 hits while the men from Dade collected 18 hits. We still say Red Williams did a fine job of managing the Dade Team through the last half of the season. Dade Football Team Takes Eagles 20-0 ,)arr, ‘ n r ’ attis Return ' ; Kick 70 Yards to Score—Leo Scores 2 for Dade Dade county defeated Chattanooga Valley Eagles last night 20-0 on the Eagles newly lighted field. Dade County went out in front in the second canto as Bobby Gattls plunged over f.om the 5-yard line. scored again after the inter- mission as he again went from around the 5-yard marker. The highlight of the game came just as the second half got under way, as Darrell Gat- tis, took the kickoff and raced 70 yards through the Eagles to score. Billy Whited and Tommy Mitchum paced the Dade Coun- tians on defense. Outstanding for the Eagles were Norris Trimmier and Carrol Chambers on defense, and a 50-yar d punt return by Frank Smith as the clock ticked away the few remaining seconds of the game. Davis Yellow Jackets Lose To Bradley High The Davis Yellow Jackets bowed 46 - 20 to Bradley High's ■•B” team on the Cleveland field October 16. Bradley scored 20 points in the first quarter of the bail game, but was slowed down in the second by the Davis team, which allowed only six points The score remained at zero for | the Dade team until the fourth • quarter when the Yellow etc ran wild to score twenty points.
