ONE FIRM FAITH
I don’t believe the half I hear,
Nor the quarter of what I sre!
But I have one faith, sublime
and true,
That nothing can shake or
slay;
Each spring I firmly believe
anew
All the seed catalogues say!

Soil Conservation
Col. I). E. Morrison, Supervisor I
A1 Webb, SCS Technician
We are glad to welcome Mr.!
Floyd Smothers of the Avans'
community, as a new cooper ■'
ator of the Coosa River Soil
Conservation District. We have
run several feet of terrace lines
to be built on Mr. Smother’s
farm. These terraces, when
built, should help keep the good
soil he has on his field and
old quite a bit of the water for
the soil to soak up.
We are glad to see some of
our ccoperato;s preparing for
te dry summer months ahead.
Among these are Mrs. Cecil Me'
Mahan and son Donr-ie who
have recently constructed two|
stock ponds thai should afford,
when filled, enough water for
several head of cattle.
Mr. H. G. Daverson, on Sand
Mountain, is a firm believer in
terrace maintenance. He real¬
izes that no terrace is stronger
than its weakest place and
tries to see that there are no
weak places.
