Hutchins Recovers
Dyer’s Stolen Truck

been ordered to steal the truck

ACCIDENT VICTIM FINED

William C. Steele. 16-year old
Brewfcon, Ala. youth, wa.s fined
last. Friday, July 30 after enter-
ing a plea of guilty on a charge
•ef public drunkenness. Judge
Freeman C. McClure meted out
a fine of $53.
Steele was one of the persons
injured in a three-way collision
near Morganville last Friday in
which a Birmingham couple,
Mr. and Mrs Deward Fuqua
were hospitalized. Steele was
riding in the car droven by Ber¬
nard Bagett, who is charged
with driving under the influ¬
ence .of an intoxicant and driv¬
ing without a license. Baggett
was released on bond, but Steele
was unable to make bond.

Canyon. A savory picnic sup¬
per of fried chicken and water¬
melon (Southern style) was
served by the ladies of the Mor
ganville Methodist Church.
John W. Davis, a Summerville
lawyer and candidate for the
judge of the Lookout Mountain
Judicial Circuit, was a guest at
the meeting and delivered a
non-political speech.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Millie Barbee, 98, long
time resident of Dade County,
died Monday morning at the
home of her daughter, Mrs.
Blessing at Hooker.
Surviving are three daugh¬

Matilda Price, Hooker, and Mrs.
Jane Forshee, Trenton; one
sen, Washington Barbee, Ladds
Switch, Tenn.; 14 grandchil¬
dren, 53 great grandchildren
and 15 great-great-grandchil¬
dren.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday afternoon at 2:00
o’clock at the Hooker Methodist
Church, with the Rev. Charles
Ward and Rev. Ralph Cash of¬
ficiating. Interment was in
the Hooker Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Grady Bell,
Hayden Strawn,, Ralph Jones,
Elmer Hunt, Arvie Cagle and
Harvey Williams.
