underwent a very serious ope¬
ration on March 18. His condi¬
tion is reported to be fair and
he hopes to return home soon.

of tests to determine the cause
of her recent illness.

glad to report her health as

“Butch” Curtis is rapidly im¬
proving now that he Ls home.
He is still confined to his bed
but he is going to m^et with his
Scout Troop next week when
the meeting will be held in his
home
Mrs. W G Morrison, Sr.,
who had a very severe heart at¬
tack last Saturday night. Ls re¬
covering and able to see a few
visitors for a short time each
day. Miss Gladys, who has been
sick for several we^ks. is able
to be up and help with the care
of her mother.
Mr. W C Amos, of the Clo-
verdale community who cele¬
brated his 86th birthday on
March 29. was honored with a
birthday dinner at the heme of
his daughter, Mrs H L Brad¬
ford and Mr Bradford of the
Union Community Forty-five
relatives and friends enjoyed
the dinner with Mr Amos.

Larry’s brother, Pfc. Sidney
Aubrey, is stationed at Fort
Jackson. Aubrey began his mi-
litary service some months af-
ter Iris graduation from the
University of Georgia
Aubrey is assigned to the
Armed Forces Examination
Station (Fort Jackson, S. C), as
Social Sciences Research As-

Accident at Hooker
In an accident on the Hooker
Road last Tuesday, Walter Hig¬
don was charged with reckless
driving , , , after ,, he had driven his . .
motor vehicle into the rear cf
a pickup truck driven by Hous¬
ton Nunnaly.
The accident occurred at the
intersection of the Hooker Rd.
and Highway No. 11. There
w’ere several persons riding in
the truck at the time the mi¬
shap occurred

Burns Guarded
The Dade County Sheriff, F.
Graham, announced this
week that In accordance with a
recommendation of the grand
jury and an order bv the court,
two guards had been placed on
the person cf Robert Burns at
home in New England
Burns is under an indictment
cf murder in the accident last
which killed Mrs. Lois
Hall and her child. Injuries
received in the accident
have not sufficinetly healed to
allow him to be placed in the
jail.
Sheriff Graham said that he
had deputized and hired two
guards, Charlie Stephens and |
Oscar Taylor, and that one j
