The wall around the court¬ house is being repaired. Mrs. Wayne Harrison is in Erlanger Hospital. Mrs. Delia Christopher has returned home from the hospi¬ tal. Mrs. Roy Cousins and sons from Greensville, Ga. are visit¬ ing Mrs. W. E. Page and family. Ranger Dan Hall has just re- • turned from Forest Rangers school in Cartersville. Richard Hilton is suffering from a bad case of poison ivy on his face. C. E. Kyzer and C. T. Sims at¬ tended the Fire School in Rorhe last week. Mr. J. G. Nethery and family, of Bremen, Ga., are visiting his mother, Mrs. Grace Nethery. Mr. and Mrs. Edmon Reeves announce the birth of a son, John Allen, born May 22., Charles Shankles is home on a 2 week leave from the Navy. He’ll return to San Diego, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Dyer have '•eturned from a trip. Mrs. W. A. Thigpen, Mr. Dyer's sister, went with them. Mr. and Mrs. Bob White visit¬ ed Mr. and Mrs. Carl Brooks and Shirley in Tiftonia Sun¬ day. Mr. and Mrs Aubery Dyer have a new addition to their family. Her name is Mamie, and she is a great dane. Mr. and Mrs. Roy McBryar and family have been vacation¬ ing in south Alabama and Florida. Mrs. Marshall Sullivan has been off from work a few days. She has been sick, but is now much betttr. Sgt. c. C. Brown is spending his leave here with his family. He has been stationed in New York. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Buchanan and frends, from Murphy, Nirth Carolina, were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Chester Buchanan over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. John Slaton have a baby girl. The baby born June 5th, weighed 4 lbs, 13 oz. Both mother and child are still in the hospital. Weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Hilton were her brother, Henry Lenoir, Athens, Tenn, and sister, Miss Marie Lenoir, of Norris, Tenn. Jackie Christopher is in Childrens Hospital wfith a second attack of rheumatic fever. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Leon Christopher of Tren¬ ton. Mr. and Mrs. William Hamil¬ ton, of Columbus,, Ohio, are visiting Mrs. Hamilton’s moth¬ er and relatives in Trenton. Mrs Hamilton is the former Miss Margaret Cole. James Rogers has gone to join his wife and family in Texas where they have been visiting friends. Mr. and Mrs Rogers will return sometime this week. Sunday visitors of John Tatum’s were: Mr. and Mrs. CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH NEWS The Calvary Baptist Church will take a Special Offering this Sunday, June 17, for the new Church Building which is being erected north of Tren¬ ton. The Sanctuary will be 62 by34 feet and the Educational Building will be 26 by 57 feet with a full size basement. Everyone is invited to come and take a part in this special offering. All donations will be greatly appreciated. ROUTE 2 NEWS By Mrs. Fred Cooper Mrs. C. W. Albertson and Children went to Alabama to be with her brother and parents. There will not be any serv¬ ice Sunday, June 17th, at the Pleasent Grove Baptist Church, but the services will continue the following night. Tony Whetzell is spending this week at camp. Otto Cooper visited his mother this last week. Mitchel Tinker has been transferred to Louisana. The Rick Morgans are building a new house. They had the foundation finished last week. W^ hear Mrs- James B. Lan¬ caster is sick. Mr. and Mrs. -Rufus Moore had company Friday night. Mrs. Maggie Cooper and Elizabeth spent Sunday with her son Otto in Chattanooga. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wood are here from Florida visitiing her sister, Mrs Leona Wood and relatives. Auther Wood is visiting his mother and relatives. Miss Carolyn Wood had her tonsils removed Monday. Buddy and Gary Cooper are spending a week at a camp on Lake Chickamauga. The men of the community are to be complimented on the excellent job they did on clean¬ ing the cemetery last Friday. Comments heard around town are that it is the best job that has been done in recent years. Mrs. John Pendergrass, of Smyrna, spent Monday night with the Lem Fannins. She is Mrs. Fannin’s niece. Mrs. Louise Goodloe, of Corpus Christi, Texas,, is visiting Misses May and Bess Cureton and Mrs. Lillian Stroud.
