Mr- and Mrs. Albert owners of Helen’s Florist, bought a farm on Sand tain in Alabama and plan move there in two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Koger and children, Bob, Kay and of Akron, Ohio, were the week end guest of his sister, Mrs. Russell Holland. The E. L. Raulston’s have re¬ ceived news of a new daughter born to Dr. and Jack Raulston, July 31st, in Boynton Beach, Florida Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Hill and children were vacationing Florida last week. They visited beaches in Jacksonville, Day¬ tona and St. Augustine and saw all of the historical sights. Mrs. Charlie Shankles and Mrs. Billy Joe Bradford honor¬ ed Mrs. Joe McBryar with a bridal shower at the Shankles’ home in Trenton. About 30 guests were present. OBITUARY Mrs. Maggie Taylor Smyth, 89, widow of the late Isaac W. Smyth, of Morganville, passed away July 26 after a lingering illness. She was born in old James County, Tennessee, and was a member of the New En¬ gland Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alta Rice, Chattanooga, Term., and Mrs. Ada Carroll, Morgan¬ ville: two sons, G. L. Smyth and J. C. Smyth of Morganville. She was the mother of the late William Wells Smyth who died in 1918 while in service in France: one sister, Mrs. John Petty, Chattanooga, Tenn., eight grandchildren. Miss Evelyn Smith, Mrs James L. Holder, Dr. James L. McPherson, Wil¬ mington, Delaware, Harold Smith, Wilbur Carroll, Charles Smyth, Lavoy Smyth and Mer¬ rill Smyth. Funeral services were held from the Morganville Methodist Church, with the Rev. J. R. Nabors officiating. Interment was in Sarah’s Chapel Cemetary. Pallbearers were grandsons. I. O. O. f. Pike withe the ladies bringing a covered dish and in¬ viting their families. A deli¬ cious meal was enjoyed by every ¬ one. We were glad to have Mrs. D. P. Hood’s daughter, Mrs. Nelda Kayatta, and children, Verna and Vinnie, 0 f Providence, Rhode Island, with us. Miss Hubble gave a report on her trip to the Hand-Craft Fair at Asheville, N. Carolina. She also asked everyone to be thinking about the fair and get¬ ting the things ready for our booth.
