RUTH NEELY I guess it is 'about time to get a news letter in or turn the job over to a more faithful corre¬ spondent. It seems there have been so many things to do and places to go that our poor little letter got neglected. I spent one week-end with June at College- dale, it being her graduation and al! things that go along with it. We have been having some lovely rains. As a result, we are enjoying beans, squash, etc. out of the garden. I notice that the “Lord’s Acre’’ garden looks as if someone has been working it. I can’t help but w'onder who is going to keep those four rows of okra picked? Don’t everyone offer help at once! Ida and Edwin Dantzler spent last week-end with Maurine and family in Marietta. Little Debby came home with them for a few days’ visit with her grandmother. Mrs. Joe Dantzler and children also spent the week with them. Miss Jenny Lea of Chattanooga and Maurice Lea and family of Columbia, Term, spent the week¬ end with the Dantzlers. There were others in for the day Sun¬ day. Mary Townsend and her mother, Mrs. Jim Cooley, have returned from Annapolis where they at¬ tended the graduation of their cousin, Parke L. Brown, Jr. from the U. S. Naval Academy. They thoroughly enjoyed the trip. On the way home they stopped for a visit with Dr. and Mrs. James Cash, formerly of Wildwood. They report that Mrs. Cash is quite well, being able to come to the dining room for meals and to sit in the living room and visit. Mrs. Cash says they are spoiling her something awful, but to my way of thinking, she has it coming. Bill Mike Townsend left last Wednesday for Lackland, Texas Airbase where he will be in train¬ ing for eleven weeks. He is in the National Guard. Congratulations to Faye Turner on receiving the Alpha Kappa Award given the outstanding sen¬ ior in the Sociology Dept, of U.C. Also congratulations to Ray Cross on having finished four years and graduating from Mc¬ Kenzie Law School. It takes a lot of hard work, stiek-to-itiveness and midnight oil to reach these goals and we are proud of our young people. Mary Ruth Smith is attending resident classes every other Satur¬ day at the Ryan Airline School in Knoxville. Minnie Lea and I had such a good visit with Mrs. Daisy Tittle Saturday. She is such a cheerful person even during the most aw¬ ful ordeals. Her brdken ankle is coming along fine now. We hope it will be as good as new before long. Mrs. Ruth Wallen Moore is ill in Woman’s Clinic. Mrs. Catherine Kirk is having a lovely visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Bolton of Red Bank while the Rev. Gene is in conference. I was talking to Mrs. Joe Lucas on the telephone the other day. She was sore all over from taking a tumble down the steps. There THE DADE COUNTY TIMES: TRENTON. GEORGIA. THURSDAY.
