We just don’t want to wish anything but the best for them but we do hope it won't be long before they are back here with us again. 1 know we are all going to miss them. Hayden Gray and boys from Mississippi came home for a brief stay this w r eek. Little Mark Gray went back home to stay for awhile. Juanita, Grady and Michael visited Mr. and Mrs. Will Howell Sunday afternoon. We are sure happy to hear that Uncle Will is home from the hospital and doing so well. There was a large number of friends and relatives gathered into the C. A. Gray home for lunch Sunday in remembrance of his 07th birthday. Happy birth¬ day, Papa—we all want to wish you many more. This woodland was designated in 1945 as a Farm Woodland Man¬ agement Demonstration by the Georgia Agricultural Extension Service and the TVA. Also speaking at this point of the tour were C. Dorsey Dyer, Extension Forester, and Charles Place, Jr. of the Ga. Forestry Commission, who spoke on saw¬ milling profits and logging and milling costs. The Dade County 4-H Council was host at the noon hour at a barbecued chicken lunch at the Legion Hall. Prepared under the direction of Joe Herman, the de¬ licious chicken, with slaw, pickles and bread, was sold to around 100 persons. Pioceeds went into the council treasury. The lunch, which the council prepared as their con¬ tribution towards the success of the conference and in the interest of better forestry practices in the area, was made possible through the generous contribution of the following friends of the 4-H Clubs in the county: Shop-Rite Supermarket, Georgia Power Co., Haygood Grocery, M. J. Hale, Raymond Morrison, J. L. Case Co., Sheriff Allison Blevins, Fleetwood Coffee Co., Griffith Chevrolet, Cannaway-Riley, Avak¬ ian’s, Buck’s Service Station, Gray Grocery, John W. Murphy, Roy W. A movie of operations at Dyer Lumber Co. was shown after lunch by Ernest Clevenger of Cor¬ ley Mfg. Co. in Chattanooga, who assisted in the installation of the new sash gang mill recently.
