PAGE ti OBITUARY Mrs. Willie Mae Autry Kilgore Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Mae Autry Kilgore, Rt. 2, Rising Fawn, who died August 4 were held Tuesday. Interment was in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, J. B. Kilgore; four daughters, Mrs. Carl Chastain, Misses Brenda, Connie and Kathryn Kilgore; parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. THE DADE COUNTY TIMES: TRENTON, GEORGIA, THURSDAY, AUGUST 8, 1957 CLARK GIRL DROWNS WHILE WADING FRIDAY Clara Clark, 18 year old daugh¬ ter of Mr. and Mrs. Grady Clark of Morganville, drowned August 2 while wading in a pond on the Dave L. Brown farm near Morganville. It was reported the girl, who could not swim, step¬ ped in a hole, and that others who were wading with her, in¬ cluding her step-mother and two brothers were unable to save her. The body was recovered after about 45 minutes by Merrill and Smut Smith. She is survived by her step-mother, 2 sisters, 8 broth¬ ers and one half brother. Funer¬ al services were held from the Head Springs Baptist Church, Ala. and burial was in the church cemetary. Isaac A. Taylor, age GO, better know'n as “Pete”, died suddenly Saturday afternoon at his home in Trenton following was was report¬ ed as a heart attack. He was a member of ^he United Church of God. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August G at the United Church of God with the Revs. T. A. Chastain, Donald Henegar, Billo Gass and Pearl Tinker offi¬ ciating. Burial was in Whitt Ceme¬ tery with Moore Funeral Home in charge. Surviving are his wife; five sons, Lewis, Ronald, Donald and Ned Taylor, all of Trenton, and Franklin Taylor, Fort Hood, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Mar¬ garet Taylor, Trenton; five broth¬ ers, Jake, Oscar, and James Tay¬ lor, all of Trenton; Horace Taylor, Chattanooga, and Robert Taylor, Mississippi; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Broom and Mrs. Willie Ledford, both of Chattanooga, and Mrs. Lois Crisp, California, and one grandchild. CHARLES T. PRINCE Charles T. Prince, 87, died at his residence on Sand Mountain, August 4. He is survived by four sons, Grady, Paul and Bailey Prince, Trenton and Marvin Prince of New York; four daughters, Mrs. Clara Wheeler and Mrs. Flor¬ ence Daniels, Trenton, Mrs. Blanche Dean, Rising Fawn and Mrs. Stella Gass, Rossville; two brothers, Horace and George Prince, Whiteside, Tenn. Funeral services were held from the Cole City Baptist Church with Revs. Gene Smith and Alan Campbell of¬ ficiating. Interment was in the Cole City Cemetery. Roy Cousins of Greenville, Geor¬ gia, has been elected Department Commander of the American Legion, Department of Georgia. Mr. Cousins married the former Miss Martha Lee Page, daughter of Mrs. W. E. Page. Cousins, a veteran of World War II, is self employed as a dairyman. He served the past yeai as Senior Vice-Commander of the Legion, is a past commander of the Fourth District and a past commander of the Greenville Post. Patrons Begin Work Project on School Patrons of Davis School have begun a work project on the old barracks which are located on the school grounds and hope to have an attractive place in which to hold several classes this fall. Since the split session plan will not be in use this term, as it was believed earlier, patrons of the school decided to try to make the barracks do for another term, or until more classroom space is available. The grass about the buildings have been cut and some carpen¬ ter work done. About 15 or 20 ladies showed up Monday to paint the interior, with the outside to be painted by the men. PINEY CHURCH TO HOLD YOUTH NIGHT AUG. 11 The Piney Grove Baptist Church will hold a youth night service Sunday, Aug. 11. At this evening service, Terrell Lanier, nephew of Mr. L. A. Mitchel will preach and Denny Goodwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Goodwin, will lead the singing. Everyone is invited. DADE WELFARE DEPT ............ Cancer Clinic referrals num¬ bered three; Vocational Rehabili¬ tation referrals totaled 34; Train¬ ing School applications numbered three, while there were four out- of-town inquiries. The total amount spent on all these programs was $196,422.00. Of this amount, only $7,360.00 was spent by the county, with the state paying the rest. According to remarks in the re¬ port bulletin, the public assistance program’s aim is to be impartial to all. It does not pretend to meet the needs of all of the people who come into the office, but a helping hand is extended as far as the de¬ partment’s resources will reach. Mrs. Davis, who is assisted by Miss Imogene Blevins, clerk, has expressed appreciation to the fol¬ lowing for their interest and serv¬ ices which made the work of the welfare department profitable the past year: Dave T. Brown, chairman, Mrs. F. N. Belk, vice-chairman of the county welfare board; Ordinary A. W. Peck, church groups, civic organizations, Tri-County Hospital staff, Dr. N. H.
