He’ll be home tor 15 days. Phylis Boatner was honored by a birthday party Saturday night at her home, twenty four were present to enjoy the cele¬ bration. Mary Ellen Veal and Norman Farmer celebrated bir¬ thdays this past week also. Mirs. W. G. Powell is in a Chattanooga hospital. We do hope she gets home soon. Her daughter Linda has special mention in the Biscuit Baking Contest in 4 H work in this County. Congratulations and keep up the good work. Pug Veal and family took the following boy scouts to Robbin- sville, North Carolina to camp out: Billy Cole, Jerry Higdon, Johnny Powell, Bradley Harp, Butch stone, Ray and Norman Farmer. Earl and Laura Belle Cole went up on Tuesday to bring them back. Arthur Pflug and family took Phenie Farmer and Inez Veal along also for the trip. Tuesday morning at 3 o’clock the troup Flag was swip¬ ed from out of the tree and Arthur Pflug chased the two boys for a mile in the car to retrieve it, otherwise the camp¬ ing was enjoyed. Leon Tucker, Chaplin of State Penitentiary in Atlanta is speaking this week in Rossville. Monday night was designated as boy scout night. Earl and Laure Belle Cole took their son Billy with Butch Stone and the Farmer boys to the meeting. Two other cars also went. Starting Sunday night Rev. Thomas Pledger of the Evangel¬ ical Methodist Church, in Chat¬ tanooga will begin services at the West Brow Presbyterian chapel. The public is cordially ! invited. The George Getters have had Miss Gina Jackson from Boaz, Ala. as their guest the past two weeks. On Saturday, her parents, M,r. and Mrs. Hubert Jackson and son David drove up for an over¬ night visit before taking her back home. Mrs. Jackson is a sister of Mrs. Getter. Rev. and Mrs. R. L.
