C., after completing four weeks infantry training at Camp Geiger, located on the southeastern shore o f North Carolina. PARRIS ISLAND,*South Caro¬ lina (FHTNC) — Presented the “Expert Rifleman” medal as the outstanding marksman of his platoon, Marine Pvt. Carl G. Massey is congratulated by his commanding officer, Capt. J. D. Rowley, upon completion of re¬ cruit graduation at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, P a r ri s Island, South Carolina. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Gor¬ don H. Massey of Route 1, Wild¬ wood, Ga., Pv-t. Massey scored 226 out of a possible 250 points with the M-l rifle. Before entering the service, he graduated from Dade High School, Trenton, Ga. After re¬ cruit graduation, he reported to Camp Lejeune, N. C., for more specialized training. • * * U. S. FORCES, GERMANY (AHTNS) — Army Pvt. Jack R. Wise, whose wife, Willie Mae, lives on Route 1, Wildwood Ga., recently participated in a three - week training test with members of the 5th Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion at the Todendorf NATC Firing Range in Germany. Wise, a switchboard operator in the battalion’s Battery A, en¬ tered the Army in September 1955 and completed basic train¬ ing at Fort Chaffee, Ark. The 19-ye n r-old soldier at¬ tended Franklyn County High School. His mother, Mrs. Sarah A. Wise, lives at 459 W. Root St., Chicago. FAR EAST (FHTNC) — Wal¬ lace F. Parker, seaman, USN, son of Mr. Paul Q. Parker of Route 1, Wildwood, Ga., is serving aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge with the U. S. Seventh Fleet in the Far East. The Kearsarge arrived in Yok¬ osuka, Japan, in Sept following visits to Guam, M. I., and the Hawaiian Islands. • * * Marvin E. Raulston, Trenton, was recently assigned to the position of Flight Commander, Air Force ROTC, University of Georgia. In this position he will maintain the rank of cadet first lieutenant for the remainder of the quarter. A senior majoring in Geogra¬ phy, Raulston will receive a commission in the United States Air Force upon graduation in June. After graduation he will attend pilot training school and will obtain his wings after he completes the' 12 month course.
