Mr. L. R. Ryan has been hos¬
pitalized in Chattanooga for a
serious illness.
Mr. Add Doyle suffered a
stroke recently and remains con¬
fined to his home.
Mrs. Louise Wright and Mrs.
Clara Mae Brandon attended an
ASC meeting in Carrolton Mon¬
day.
We were sorry to learn that
Mrs. Jasper E Hill is in Tri-
County Hospital and Mrs Joe N.
Mayhew is in a Chattanooga
Hospital
The Garden Club of Trenton is
meeting a week late this month.
The March meeting will be a
covered dish luncheon on March
13 at the home of Mrs. E. L.
Raulston.
. The Jonquils have been u-p for
some time but we haven’t heard
of any blooms yet. The latter
part of last week was encourag¬
ing, with beautiful weather
(spiked with blustery winds.

teachers, will attend the spring
study group meeting Friday
(afternoon in the Home Ec. De¬
partment of the high school in
Calhoun.

Friday night, accompanied by
Mrs- Asa L. McMahan, class
teacher, Miss Elene Dyer and
Miss Ellen Mbrie Schneider.
Next Tuesday, March 11, is
election day in Trenton to elect
a Mayor to fill the unexpired
term of Mr. Early Ellis who died
while holding the office of
Mayor. Charles T. Sims is the
only candidate to qualify.
The Misses Wilma Pace, Naomi
Hubble and Ellen Marie Snyder
and Dude Moore were supper
guests of the R. L- Hiltens after
the church services Sunday
evening. The group enjoyed
slides taken of the recent snow
and ice formations near Case

Mrs. Julia Long Pittman
Mrs. Julia Long Pittman, age
74, died Feb. 27, in a Rome, Ga.
hospital. She is survived by one
son, Roy Pittman, Atlanta, Ga.;
two grandsons and one great-
grandson; three brothers, Fred.
Will and Paul Long, all of Rising
Fawn, Ga. Funeral services were
held from graveside of the Long
Cemetery near Rising Fawn, Ga.
with the Revs. Taylor Castle-'
berry and Richard Looney offi¬
ciating. Pallbearers were Carlton
Pittman, Charles Long, Otto
Long, Buddy Long, James Hat¬
field, and Grover Long.

end with Nat’s parents, Mr. and

CHILI LUNCH SUCCESSFUL
The Trenton M. Y. F. netted
$3213 from its Chili Lunch de¬
spite the heavy snow which fell
the preceeding night and that
day. A group of enthusiastic
M. Y. F.’ ers, their leaders and
parents spent several hours serv¬
ing and delivering Chili. Every¬
thing was sold and the last de¬
livery had to be cancelled be¬
cause we had sold out!
The group voted to use their
money in the following way: To
send $5.00 to the Methodist
Youth Fund which goes to sup-
port Missionary projects; To
send $25 to a particular mission¬
ary; and to keep $2.13 in our lo¬
cal M. Y. F- fund. We shall eager¬
ly await a reply from Dr- Robert
F. Lundy, missionary to Malaya,
telling us how the $25 will be
used.
The M. Y- F. says a big thank
you to each one who ate with us
and to all who helped out with
the work- A special thank you
goes to Alojean Word of Morgan
ville M. Y. F. who was visiting in
Trenton and worked so faith¬
fully helping make the rounds
to deliver orders.
