Hr. and Mrs- Van Wall are an¬ nouncing the birth of a daugh¬ ter on March 24 in a Chattan¬ ooga hospital. The baby weighed eight pounds and one ounce. Mrs. Wall will be remembered as the former Miss Irene Forester. Mr. L. S- Blake is confined to his room in a very serious con¬ dition. Those who visited him Saturday and Sunday were his son Rufus Blake and grandson Norman Blake of Lookout Mt., Mr- Howard Blake, a nephew of Sulphur Springs, Ala-, Mr. and Mrs. Borden Blake of Decatur, Ala., and Mrs. Beatrice Blancitt, a niece of Chattanooga, and Mr- John Reeves. Mr. and Mrs. Ault have moved into this community from Piney. Mr. and Mrs. Miles Murphy and children of Lake View visit¬ ed Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Strawn Sunday. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hunt Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hunt and children of Wildwood, Mrs. Thelma Bell and Miss Sue Bishop. Private Marvin Hunt, who has been spending several days with his parents, M!r. and Mrs. Elmer Hunt, will leave Thursday for Santa Anna, California, where he wll be stationed for several weeks before going overseas- Mr. and Mrs- Ralph Jones and family and Mr. and Mrs. Camp¬ bell were called to Chattanooga Thursday on account of the account of the death of Mrs. Jones’ and Mrs- Campbell’s uncle, Mr. Horace Price- Mr. and Mrs. Grover Ballard are spending several weeks with their son, Carl and family, on Sand Mountain. Mrs- Grace Mitchum and Mrs. Lilian Strawn visited Mr. and Mrs- Tommy Mitchum Saturday. Mesdames Lloyd Sims, Bob White and Nancy Lowery en¬ tertained with a miscellaneous shower Friday night at the home of Mrs. White, honoring Mrs. Ralph Burrell, Jr. who before her recent marriage was Miss Paul¬ ine Ginn. CORRECTION In last week’s issue, it was re¬ ported that Oct. 31, 1955 was the date the Worley School was believed to have burned. Rising Fawn Harold Dawkins, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clark Dawkins, died at Walter Reed Hospital Washington, and was buried a the Chattanooga Memorial Cem- etrey. He is survived by his wife, Neida and one daughter. The Harold Castleberrys have sold their home to the Bugs Gat¬ lins and moved into the Uncle Ben Castleberry home. The Gat lins plan to move into their new home as soon as Lookout Creek is low enough for trucks to bring their furniture thrugh. They are doing some remodeling in the meantime. Mrs- Haley Dean visited with her brother, Jay Castleberry Chickamauga, several days, in eluding a birthday for him. Rev. and Mrs. Gene Davis and Miss Jane Jeans, Decatur, Ga. were week-end guests of the Ric hard Fricks- Mrs. Richard Looney and Mrs. Lunsford Fricks attended the GEA last week. A group of WSM members from the Baptist Church made a trip to Bessemer last week to honor Mrs. Taylor Castleberry’s mother, Mrs. Ada Moore, on her birthday. Mrs. Moore’s home burned during the heavy snows and lost all her clothing and furniture, the firemen could do little because of frozen water connections but did prevent the adjoining homes from burning. Joint Easter services will be held by the Baptist and Method¬ ist churches at the Baptist Church with the Rev- Richard bringing the message. This is the first time, after 38 years of marriage, that they have ever been apart at night- Frank Woodyard of Paducah, Ky. and Lawrence Woodyard of Chattanooga were home far the week-end. DADE-DAVIS BASEBALL TEAMS PLAY APRIL 1 The afternoon of April 1 is the date for the opening baseball game of the season between the schools on the Davis field. The trustees of the Bethlehem Church had a meeting the third Saturday night in March to de cide when to have an election, rto elect a trustee to fill the va cancy left by the death of Mr- Leighton Street. They decided the election will be held the /third Saturday night in April which will be April 19th. Those who are interested please be present.
