He is able to walk around a little, we are glad to report. Mrs. Mary Whetzell still iremains in a Chattanooga hos¬ pital. We hear she will have to stay at least three weeks. Mrs. Mary Lou Hardeman visited her last Thursday. John Shelton still remains sicks at his home. Mrs. Betty Spears was sick Sunday. iDavid Summerford was mar¬ ried last week we hear. He is the eon of L- S- Summerford. Mrs. Irene West entertained with a miscellaneous shower Saturday night for Mr. and Mrs. Odell West. About 30 guests were present. They received .many lovely gifts- We are sorry to report the death of Rick Morgan’s brother, who died from a car wreck. The Fred Coooper’s visited her daughter of Long Island, Ala. Sunday. Otto Cooper of Chatt¬ anooga visited his mother Maggie Sunday. She returned home with him to go have some X-Rays made Monday. John Tinker, Jr. spent a week with his daughter of Chattanooga. Mrs. Earline Michaels visited Mrs. Mary Whetzell in the hospital last week. Mrs. Bertha Patton had company Sunday. We had a visiting preacher Sunday who brought the mess¬ age, Rev- Pike. Rev. Jones was present, too. We hear the Gib Dock Stevens old home place burned over a week ago. It is in the Avans Community. The Worley Chapel School didn’t burn in 1955 because I went to school at that school and I started to school at Davis High in 1936. Under the supervision of Wilma* Mrs.! Edna B. Sutton and Miss Pace, county public health ■nurse, the classes should be a boon to many mothers in the' community.
