Hilten and children visited Mrs. Hilten’s mother in Lenoir City Saturday. The friends of Mrs. R. B. Cren¬ shaw extend their deepest sym¬ pathy in the death of her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Hoyle Phillips are spending this weekend in North Carolina with Mrs. Phil¬ lip’s family. Supt. of Schools Roy W. Moore attended a regional conference on Rural Life and Education in Atlanta two days last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Morrison spent the weekend in Atlanta as the guests of Dr. and Mrs. W. B. Short. Mr. and Mrs. J. F DeWine of Knoxville were brief visitors of ithe T. S. Renfroes Saturday. Mrs James M Rogers attend¬ ed an Eastern Star training course in Decatur, Ga. over the weekend. Katherine Ann and Douglas Hutchison were entertained with a birthday party at their home last Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Cureton and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Taylor have returned from a short stay in Florida. Members of the Young Adult Class of the Trenton Methodist Church enjoyed a fish fry at Cloudland Canyon State Park Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Hale and granddaughter Joan were re¬ cent guests of Mr. Hale’s sister, Mrs. H. F. Allison, and Mr. Alli¬ son. Conrad and Phyllis Ann Phil¬ lips have moved into their home ipear Trenton. He was carried to the Tri-County Hospital by Moore’s ambulance, where it was reported that he was recovering slowly. Renfroe and Asa Reeves volunteering to take flowers to Wildwood Sanitarium—members to send flowers to the home of Mrs. Tatum to be picke up there. Mrs. Hale, flower show chair¬ man, passed out schedules for ithe flower show to be held in the Trenton Methodist Church on May 10 and final plans were made for the show. Many beautiful specimens of iris and other spring flowers were entered in the monthly flower show, in addition to sev¬ eral arrangements. Mrs. A. W. Peck was a guest at the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Moore and Mrs. Katherine Moore visit¬ ed the following relatives in Trenton Sunday: The Sherman Moores and Conrad Phillips. New residents of Trenton are Mr. and Mrs. Reid. Mr. Reid is in charge of maintenance for the A. G. and S. Railway. Mrs. Frances Hayes underwent surgery for a back condition at Tri-County Hospital last Wed¬ nesday. Mrs. George Grant and Mrs. Betty Spears are assisting at the Trenton Clinic until her return. Mrs. W. C. Cureton spent sev¬ eral days in Alabama last week, visiting her husband, who is em¬ ployed there. Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Ren- froe are now making their home in Savannah, Ga. where Mr. Ren (froe is stationed with the Air Force. He has just returned from ,a year’s tour of duty in Alaska. The J. M. Goodwin family drove down to Indian Springs, Ga. over the weekend for “Red’s” annual visit with eight of his Army buddies and their families. He tells us he was raised within 100 miles of this well-known camping ground. Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Malone, Mr. Asbury Malone and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Pou of Decatur, Ala¬ bama were the weekend guests of Joe Ashworth and George Gearrin at Bonaparte’s Retreat on Lookout Mountain. While visiting on Lookout Mountain, the party toured Cloudland Can¬ yon and were thrilled at the beautiful scenery our canyon offers. Mr. and Mrs. Conley Smith of Long Island, Ala. are the par¬ ents of a daughter, born May 15 at Tri-County Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin E. Ken- nemore of Higdon became the parents of a daughter at Tri- County on May 14. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stephens of Trenton welcomed a son also on May 14 at Tri-County. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas N. Forester of Rising Fawn Rt. 1 are announcing the birth of a daughter on May 16. She has been named Pamela Jayne and weighs 7 lbs. and 13 oz.
