Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cooper vis¬
ited their daughter of Long
Island, Ala. Sunday. Mrs. Carol¬
yn Brown had her aunt and her
husband visit them Sunday Mr.
and Mrs. Rufus Moore had
company last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Tinker
and two sons of Rossville, Ga.
were visiting relatives on the
mountain Saturday. Mr. and
Mrs. Otto Cooper spent the
week end with his mother. Mr.
and Mrs. Leslie Cooper and son
visited his mother Friday night.
Mrs. C. W. Albertson is in a
Chattanooga hospital She has
been there for two weeks. We
hope she recovers soon and is
out again.
Our pastor and his wife had a
birthday this past week, also
Mr. Albert B. Ott who we hear
had a birthday dinner. We are
wishing them many more happy
birthdays.
Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Mor¬
gan’s house is almost finished
Charlotte Cooper and Nola
Cooper have had the measles.
Last Thursday was registra¬
tion day for the pupils that
start school next fall. We hear
that at last count there were 80
registered.
We had an increase of eleven
in Sunday School last Sunday.
We notice the Burma Bueh-
anons place in Avans is being
raised and underpinned.
Mrs. Fred Cooper visited Mrs.
Winoa Hixon’s room at school
last Thursday.
Mr. Gene Bynun and Miss
Thelma Jean West were married
April 11. They have bought a
trailer and now reside in Tif-
tonia. Miss West was a gradu¬
ate of Davis High School. We
wish them a long life of happin
ess. They were visiting on the
mountain Sunday.

Morganville & Slygo
There is no doubt that the
North end of county wasn’t at
home any of the past Saturday
as when you looked around at
Lion’s Club Bar-B-Cue you
would see the many from the
Morganville and Slygo Com¬
munities . . one of the forward
.
steps toward making one grand
county is to have the complete
cooperation and fellowship of
all.
Our churches were well at¬
tended the past Sunday and our
attendance is really picking up
. . . this is one of the greatest
achievements of all and that is
to show we are interested in the
one great God ....
Our sick lists are really de¬
clining and we are really proud
of that. Mrs. Elmer Oliver has
returned from Tri-County hos¬
pital, where she was listed for
observations . . . Mr. Elmer is a
patient at the Tri-County hos¬
pital, where he is undergoing
some treatments and tests . . .
we pray that Elmer will be up
and going and feeling much
better . . . Mr. Ben Raines has
to go back to Tri-County for
some observation tests this week
and we know that Ben will
undergone so much in the past
prove to be okay, as he lias
few months . . . Luther Hayes
improves and Mrs. E. C.
Chandler is gradually improving
. . . Mr. Martin Hayes is some¬
what better at his home in Mor¬
ganville . . . that just about
does it for Morganville and over
the SLYGO COMMUNITY we
find that our sick are still im¬
. . . Mrs. Frank For¬
has been real sick, but
is improving and the feeling

days and his bad days . . .
Estelle Patterson was out

Montford Tatum, of Chattan¬
ooga were guests Saturday of
Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Brock.
Mr. and Mrs. L. L. McKaig,
who have lived in a cottage on
the Brock place on East Side
Drive for the past four years
moved to Lookout Mountain Sat
urday where they are building
a home on Scenic Highway.
Miss Patricia Wheeler was
home for the week end from
David Lipscomb College.
We were sorry to hear that
Mrs. Walter Simpson is in Tri-
County hospital for examina¬
tions. We also understand that
Mrs. Meadows, mother of Mrs.
W. C. Wilbanks is in the hos¬
pital.
We see Mrs. Jewell McBryar
driving a new blue 59 Ford.
sick list . . . she says she has
'just had the flu but she is feel¬
ing much better at the present
time. Mrs. Tom Slaughter is
still improving and feeling .bet¬
ter and so is Mr. Raymond
Street . . . this reporter visited
Mr. Street and he is doing so
much better he was able to
plant his garden and do a little
light work around the house. . .
we are so proud that Raymond
is improving and our prayers
were for him.
We have heard that Mrs.
Hazel Street will be moving
back into the Slygo Valley for
the summer and we hope for all
the time. . . We really welcome
Hazel back and will say that we
are so proud that she will be re¬
gularly with us in our New
Slygo Methodist Church . . . .
speaking of church we really
were proud of the large attend¬
ance we had this past Sunday
and want to thank all our visi¬
tors we were happy to have Mr.
and Mrs. Gus Hughes and their
wonderful family worshiping
with us . . .
Don’t forget that Sunday will
be the Memorial Services at the
Sarah’s Chapel Church and the
morning services will toe con¬
ducted toy the Rev. J. O. Stewart
pastor of the Morganville Met-
1st Circuit . . . and the after¬
noon program will be under the
direction of the Program Chair¬
men . . . there will toe dinner
on the ground and it’s our
prayers that everyone will be
there to rejoice in the know¬
ledge that we have the freedom
to still worship as we please and
to know that these remem¬
brances are still precious in the
eyes of our Almighty God. He
who knows our every thought.
