Visit Dade Clubs
At the regular March meet¬
ing of the Davis Ruritan Club,
District Governor, Homer Leg¬
gett and (District Secretary J. T.
Thompson of Hiram, Ga. met
at Davis with the Rising
and Davis clubs. Lt. Governor
Ernest King of Rainsville, Ala¬
bama was tolso present. The Ris¬
ing Fawn club was
by Treasurer Bill Austin, Direc¬
tor Lee Blevins and
Henry Elliott.
The District Governor was
concerned with making a new
national district out of the Ala¬
bama clubs and Dade County.
The new district, as Legigett ex¬
plained, would make it possible
for the national office to give
more supervision to the clubs in
this area.
After the situation was ex¬
plained by Governor Leggett,
the Davis president, Waldo Sim¬
mons, held an open discussion
on the matter. The concensis
of opinion seemed that all
thought it best to organize a
new district which would be
acted upon at the next National
Convention when all the clubs
concerned have approved the
plan.
The new officers ef the
are: President Henry
Vice-President J. L.
Secretary Rev. Richard
Treasurer Bill Austin,
Lee Blevins, Sergeant at
G. V. Greene and
Douglas M. Forester.
