One Year. $2.00; Six Months, $1.25; Three Months, 75 Cents. Plus Sales Tax SUBSCRIPTION RATES —IN ADVANCE VACATION It is difficult to get back on the job again especially in this heat and humidity after visit¬ ing where it was so much cooler. Mrs. Aubrey Dyer, her three children, Cynthia, Ellen Abbott land Lee, and myself first went t o Lexington, Massachusetts where my sister lives. It was cold there and rainy. I also vis¬ ited my mother in Portland, Maine where it was also cold and rainy. In fact we only had one sunshiny day the whole time we were gone. My mother had her furnace on for my en¬ tire visit with her. The Charles Barfields, who also took their vacation at the same time, visited with Mrs. Barfield’s mother at Virginia Beach, Virginia. They report it was so cold there they didn’t want to go swimming. They did! try some ocean fishing but didn’t have much luck. Wb can’t seem to find that there was much unusual news that happened while we were gone or else we haven’t talked to the right people to hear about it. The ones who are not taking vacations seem to be busy farming and canning. We even hear that Dade could do with a little rain which I, for one, could live without for a while. We understaand the contract has been let for U. S. Highway 11 but not the work order, also that State Route 301 Is about to be finished. Our sympathy to the C. A. Gray family upon his death while we were gone. Both departments of the John L. Case Co. had their grand opening while we were gone and a very fine store it appears to be.
