Mrs. Will Hawkins, who has been sick, is reported better. One of her daughters, Mrs. Sus- sie Simmons, from Birmingham, has been visiting her. Gordon Bible and family were (recent visitors of his parents, Ithe Charlie Bibles. Mr. and Mrs. John Wilkins (have been recent visitors in this community. The annual Cloverdale Sing¬ ing was reported to be a great success with lots of eating. Mr. and Mrs. Van Walls small daughter has had her toncils removed. Mr. and Mrs. Pink Salmon were recent visitors of the Ed Bibles. Mrs. Bible, returned to Rome with them for a visit, is now back home. The George Bibles, from wood, Tenn. are visiting the Bibles. The new road work is pro¬ gressing. It looks good. RISING FAWN W. S. C. S. The Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the Fawn Methodist Church met the home of Mrs. C. S. June 25 at 8 p. m. Mrs. Herschel Dean presented the program on “New Ambassa¬ dors for Christ” (The Tourist). After the group sang the hymn “Open My Eyes That I May (i See”, ^ Mrs. L. _ W. Slaughter gave t h e devotional. Mrs. Dean gave the introduction and announced the speakers: “An American Speaks” by Mrs. W. G. Konrad, “Goodwill Ambassadors” by Mrs. R. P. Fricks, “A College Student Speaks” by Mrs. Richard Looney,” A Housewife Speaks’ by Miss Bess Cureton. At the close of the business isession the hostess served de¬ lightful refreshments to twenty one members. Fores¬ ter and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. E. May of Chattan¬ ooga. A daily vacation Bible school is being conducted at the church here this week. A revival will also start at the church next Sunday night with the Rev Ed Whittier of Chattanooga doing the preaching. j Mrs. Gordon Barnes was called to the bedside of her little grandaughter Charlene Bradford who was bitten by a poisonous snake on last Friday. At this writing, the child is still confined in the Tri-County Hos¬ pital, where she was rushed soon after being bitten. Mr. and Mrs. G-riff Johnson visited relatives in Cleveland, Ala. last Sunday.
