DADE WINNERS IN GEORGIA POWER 4-H PROGRAM—Dade County’s 4-H boys, all of Rising Fawn, won high honors in the Georgia Power Company’s annual 4-H hybrid corn program. The boys were honored by the power company at a special luncheon in ^Atlanta recent¬ ly. J. T. Morgan, the Georgia Power Co.’s Summerville district manager, is show at right, front row. The boys, their county rankink, and bushel yeields of corn per acre are, left to right, J. W. Johnson, first, 142; Harlan Middlebrooks, second, 136; and Alfred Barnes, third, 105. Shown in back are, left to /right, Trenton local manager, Georgia Power Company, T. S. Renfroe; Larry Konrad, fourth place winner, 93 bushels; and County Agent L. C. Adams. Awards presented the boys and the county agent included electrical tools and 4-H jackets. The contest’s objective is to demonstrate the importance of using improved methods of corn production, to iscrease counties’ corn yields, and to reduce production costs per bushel. Methodist of Sand Mountain Plan Full Christmas Worship The Sand Mountain Method¬ ist Church will observe Christ¬ mas this year by having “One Great Day For Chirst”, Sunday December 20. The day will begin with Sunday School at 10:00 A. M. and the Christmas Wor¬ ship Service will be held at 11:00 At this service the offering for the Christchild will be taken and the pastor will bring the Christmas message, “Christmas Is Forever”. During the afternoon all the people of the church are in¬ vited to come and help decorate the Church Christmas tree and prepare for the Sunday night program. At 7:30 P. M. the Sunday School of the church will pre¬ sent the Christmas program “The Nativity”. The singing will be done by a choir made up of the young people and the mem¬ bers of the church.
