District Lawmakers (Continued From Page 1) At the same time, the commit¬ tee reported, middle Georgia was getting 45 percent and South Georgia 30 per cent. The legislators from the dis¬ tricts, which includes all North Georgia counties in this area, at present are seeking an even dis¬ tribution of funds for the three major districts, north, middle and south. A spokeman pointed out, how¬ ever, that a fairer share would be 44 percent to North Georgia, because of two major factors. 1. Roadbuilding in mountains cost more. 2. North Georgia roads are more heavily traveled. The group was instrumental in getting work done on U. S. 11 from Trenton to the Tennes¬ see line and now is concentrat¬ ing on getting work done on U. S. 27 from the state line to LaFayettee. Georgia 143, over Lookout Mountain soon will be re¬ worked and re-surfaced, Mr. Hale said. He added that an additional project in Dade may be announced soon.
