Mrs. G. Hcindel Mobley was hos
tess on last Friday evening at an an
nouncement party in compliment to
Mis* Sarah Allen whose engagement
was announced io Mr. Jere Moore.
The attractive home was softly
light -d with waxen tapers and shaded
ligh‘s nnd adorned with cut flowers.
The guests were seated nt tables
which were placed in the dining room
nnd living room. The center table
where the honored guest was seated
was covered with a handsome lace
cover. The center piece was a large
pink rose with pink ribbons extend
ing from the heart to the gues's
places. In the center of the rose
under a white wedding bell stood a
minnture bride nnd groom. Silver
candelahras holding unshaded pink
tapers were on each side. Mrs. John
Mobley gave the announcement to
pul! the ribbons. On the end of the
ribbon wan a tiny pink rose bud,
holding, a piece of paper in the cen
ter. with the words, “Jere and Sarah.
Nov. 14th.” Under their names were
the names of their attendants, Mis«e<

The Woman’s Missionary Society

monthly meeting on Monday after- j
noon. Mrs. W. A. Massey, the Presi. I

led the Devotional.
Several important business mat
ters were attended to, after which
hot tea and sandwiches were served,
and a tocial half hour spent.
The regular monthly meeting of
the P. T. A. will be held Friday af-
ternono, October 12th. An interest
ing program has been arranged. Any
