Therefore Baldwin county has only eight veterans on the pension roll. Jim .Merritt, a white man, who lived or th • R. L. Rcnfroe place in East Baldwin, was found dead in his home Friday morning. The body when found was in a badly decom posed state, and it supposed that he had been dead since Sunday, as that was the last time he had been seen by any one. Coroner Newton was notified, and held an inquest. The result of the investigation was that death was due to natural cause, amf the remains were buried in a nearby cemetery. Macon. Ga., December 17.—Dr. Spright Dowell, president of Mercer University announced here today that Robert Martin, of Milledgeville, had made application for a Bachelor of Arts degree to be awarded at the June Commencement.
