1-2 teaspoon cinnamon
1-2 teaspoon cloves

1-2 teaspoon soda dissolved in tea j

Pinch of salt
Chop dates and nuts. Dredge '
flour. Mix as for cake, adding soda
and beaten whites last. Flavor with ;
Vanilla. Drop and bnke in moderate
oven, using buttered tins. The secret
is a very stiff batter, if you would
have crisp cookies.
