Mr. J. C. Grant passed the twen
tieth anniversary as a citizen of Mil
ledgeville the first of September.
That he ha» made a good citizen, dur
ing these twenty years cannot be de
nied. He is quiet in his demeanor,
and talk, and yet he has wit and
humoi that he often uses with telling
effect. He has since he has been
here engaged in the jewelry busi
ness, and he is s genius when it
comes to repairing watches and
clocks.
Mr. Grant cannot be referred to
without mentioning hi* connection
with the Methodist church, and his
Christian activities. He is a mem-
of the Board of Stewards, and there
is no more active member than he is,
and he is a most liberal contributor
of his means. He is a regular at
tends nt upon the services of the
churc.i, and the preache* - is always
greeted by him at the prayer meeting
on Wednesday night. He is a memb
er of the Men’s Bible Class at the
Sunday School.

DEBT PAYING PROGRAM
(Walton News) ,
There is nothing that bring- great
er satisfaction to the creditor or
debtor, in the fall of the year, as n
well planned program of debt paying
and to be aure, every honest man ap
preciates more than he can express
that to have an annual “clearing
away" of old obligations, gives him
a new, optimistic beginning for an
other twelve months The prompt
settlement of obligations is the
greatb-t force in the establishment
of confidence in one person in favor
of the other—ihe creditor as well as
the buyer or borrower. The matter
of 'straigh'-ening up” affects the en
tire public tor, for one to grow care
less, makes it imperative that hun
