TO BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORS.—
Sealed proposal* wid be received until the 23d
day of APRIL, inst,, for the building of a CITY
HALL and COURT HOUSE, in the Ci:y of Coium
bus, to be 06 feet long, CO wide ; to be built of brick
two stories above the basement ; ihe basement 10 feet
high from the ground, the first story 18 feet pitch, the
second 16 feet pitch, with a tront and rear Colionade,
finished with a Pediment and a Cupola, with a Town
Clock. Tne walls of the basement to be three brick,
the first story two and a half brick, the second storv
two brick thick. The outside to be laid with stock
brick, Flemish bond and plumbed ; the whole to be laid
in strong imie mortar, the inside to be plastered
throughout hard finish, the whole of the lower story
with surabie stucco cornices, and fancy centrepieces.
All the Carpenter’s work to he finished inside and out

STAGE.
THE undersigned having obtained the contract
for transporting the mail from Columbus Ga. to
Fort Gaines, Ga hv the wav of Fort Mitchell, Flo
rence Irwin'on and Franklin, have commenced the
conveyance of ‘lie same in two horse S ages and will
leave Columbus everv Tuesday and Frtdav.a’ 5 o’clock
in the morning arrive at Irwin'on at 6 o’clock in the
evening on he same days ; leave Irwin'on every Wed
nesday and Saturday morning and reach Fort Gaines
a’ 12 o’clock at noon on the ane davs. Returning,
leave Fort Gaines every Son ia-’ and Wednesday a*
5 o’clock in ‘.he morning, sleep at Florence, and arrive
at Columbus ovc-y Monday and Thursday ,at 2 o'clock
in the af ernoon.
The proprietors have made seen arrangements as
will ensure the comfort of ‘hose who may ‘ake their
lino. Their horses and stages are good, their drivers
attentive and sober, and the houses a* which they stop
