TO CONTRACTORS.
The trustees of the independent
CHURCH AND FEMALE ACADEMY,
will receive sealed proposals un.il the 4 h day of AU
GUST, for building a house 60 feet lout; and 30 wide,
based upon 17 brick pillar-. 5 feet long, 18 inches above
the surface, and 6 below, 18 inches thick at bottom and
12 inches at top ; the sills to be 12 inches square ;
■leepers 12 by 3, to be placed 2 feet from ceil re to
centre ; joists of second floor to be 3 by 12 supposed
by a girder in the cen re of the building ; internes to
be 4 by 12 ; plates 4 by 8 ; corner posts to face 12 in.
and glittered; the studs of the lower story to be 4by
6 ; the window and door post of ihe upper slory lo be
4 by 6 and studs 3 by 4 ; rafiers 3 by 6 at bo.tom. 3
inches square at top ; rafter joists 3 by 8 inches 2 feet
from centre to centre. The whole building to be strong
and substan ially braced. The floors will be laid wiih
10 inch plank, 1 J thick, tongued and grooved ; the low’
er story, ceiled chair board high, having 62 seats plain
with solid incline 1 backs; there will be a partition
across the back end for stair way and Library, leaving
a recess for the pulpit—the pulpit ill be plain wish
Eanneled desk, and the library furnished with a sui a
le number of shelves. There will be 10 windows in
the low r storv. 36 ligh’s 10 hv 12. and 15 do. in the
upper 15 lights 10 by 12 ; 2 large folding nanncl doors,
and 2 small do. wi'h transom lights ; plain newel stairs
will be run to second s'ory landing in passage above.
The upper story will be divided into 3 rooms—one
SO feet square, another 20 bv 18 and ihe third 20 Hv
12 ; the parti ion, and rafter joist, to be ceiled ; there
will be a decent cornice around the building, and a
pediment front finished with a suitable frieze and bed
cornice ; the weather boarding will show 5 inches and
the shingles s\.
The whole of the materials to be of good merchant
able lumber, and the work executed in an -at work
manlike manner by the first dav of December next.

THESE Springs, lately improved, and now first
presented ‘o the public as a wa ering place, are
situated half a mile west of the main Columbus Road
leading to the up country, and near about half wav be
tween Hamilton and Greenville, 12 miles from the fir
mer and 10 miles from the la t*r place. From the ex
perience of occasional visitors for several years past,
and particularly last year, when a number of fa tidies
boarded in the neighborhood and used it. the water is
believed to be strong! l , medicinal an I sain ary The
water is sos, and pleasant in quality, readily soluble in
use, and highly tonic an 1 renovating in charac'er. and
has been found specially adapted to debilitated and
lang fishing constitutions. Its remedial effects are diu
retic, diaphoretic. and tonic. The vicinity is mountain
ous, and the atmosphere pure and invigorating. Ar
rangements have lie<-n made for the accommodation of
considerable company the present season which will
be open for company on the 15'h Jnlv. The man of
pleasure and eistire, the traveller and the invalid, will
here find a quiet home, abun lant living, obliging atten
tion. reasonable eharges, a pi asant neighborhood and

WILL be given for the apprehension and delivery
toms of two men named ROBERT GAY
and JAM IS HINSON. Gay is about twenty-five
years of age, about five feet five inches hi jh, thick set,
of a very florid complexion, red hair, rather inclined to
bo brown, speaks quick and wi li a great deal of ef
frontery, and withail, has the villain strongly impress
ed upon his countenance. James Ilmson is aged
about twenty to twenty-three years, five feet five to
seven inches hioh, hair rather inclined to be dark, dark
blue eyes, ra’hor a small or slim person, tolerably well
m da, dark skin, has a slight, impediment in !*fs sueech,
which is increased on excitement. His appearance is
calculated to deceive a casual observer.
1 will give the above reward f >r the delivery to me at
Newnan-'ville, East Florida, of the aforesaid men, or
fifiy dollars for either of them.

St. Mary’s River, to two nten named Dobson and
