OBITUARY.
Died, at her father’s residence, Harris co., Ga.,of Tv
pnoid Dysentery, after an illness of 19 days. Miss Susan
HrNT.EV : born 31st August. 1334, and died 27th July, 1853
?*he fore her sufferings v/i-h great composure and resigna
tion, having hum in the Saviour. It was observed by her
physician and attendants during her illness, that they never
saw one more resigned to death, seeming from the begin
ning. to be conscious that her departure was at hand °
Regrets cannot teetore the lost—tcara will not bring them
oactv; else would tno cold inexorable tomb vield up many
loved ones, hid aias ! forever from tnoso that live to mourn
L)unng the last year of her life, she charmed and enlivened
her homo, being a ceaseless spring of joy and comfort to
its inmates. White at sonool sne was ever first—first in
duty—first in scnols-ship—first in the affections of her teach
ers and tnc schoolmates. Her social virtues were many—
intelligent, sincere, kind and obliging, none knew her but
tr> praise. But with ail these advantages, with ail the en
dearments of .parents sisters, brothers, friends and happi
ness such as the world giveth—shall we desire the decree
which has gone forth, revoked? He in whose hand are
ne issues of life and death, can best dispose of those who
enjoy his love. He caiis them to dwell in mansions, eter
nal in the Heavens, there to behold and adorn the glory of
God ana the Lamb forever.
Blessed bo the name of the Lord, that c&usoth ustornoum
not as those who sorrow without hope. A.

NOTES AND EMENDATIONS to the Text of

tions in a copy oi tne Folio of 1633.
“It is not to be doubted that in this volume a contribution
has been made to the clearness and accuracy of Shakspere’s
text, by tiir the most important of any offered or attempted
since Snakspeare lived and wrote .”—London Examiner.
“Men h ave acquired reputation by a single emendation
of Shakspe&re ; learned editors have plumed them- j
selves exceedingly upon a few successful hits; but here we |
have a book that at one fell swoop knocks out a thousand j
errors, for the most part so palpable when once pointed out j
that no one can deny their existence, and substitutes emen- j
