Liberal deduction will be made for yearly advertisements. I
Sales of Land and Negroes, by Administrators, Executors, o
Guardians, are required by law to be held on the first Tuesday
in the month, between the hours of ten in the forenoon and
three in the afternoon, at the Court House in the county in which
the property is situate. Notices of these sales must be given in
a public gazette forty days previous to the day of sale.
-Voticea for the sale of Personal Property “must be given at
1 east ten days previous to the day of sale.
Notice to Debtors and Creditors of an Estate must be publish
ed forty days.
Notice that application will be made to the Court of Ordinary
for leave to sell Igmd or Negroes, must be published weekly for
two months.
Citations for Letters of Administration must be published j
thirty days —for Dismission from Administration, monthly six j
months— tor Dismission from Guardianship forty days.
Rules for Foreclosure of Mortgage must be published monthly j
for four months —for establishing lost papers, for the full space
of three months —for compelling titles from Executors or Admin
istrators, where a bond has been given by the deceased, the full
space of three months.
Publications will always be continued according to these, the
legal requirements,unless otherwise ordered.
(1 EORGIA, Muscogee County.—Will be sold on

Macarina a woman about twenty-nine years old, and her two j
children, Caroline a girl about twelve years of age and Mar
gaiet a girl about six years old : also, Mary Ann a woman about ;
twenty-five years old and her child Stephen a boy six years old, :
levied on as the property of Augustus C. Johnson to satisfy sev- j
era! fi fas in my hands, one fiom the Inferior court of Muscogee i
in favor of Jese M. Reed against said Johnson: and other fi fas J
in my hands against said Johnson.
Also forty acres of land in the south-west comer of lot of land,
number not known, in the ninth district of Muscoge ; bounded
east by the land of Ginn, and the north-west by Fontain : levied j
on as the property of Wm. S. Thompson. Levy made and re
turned to me by the Constable.
Also, the following articles—six glass decanters, five tumblers,
one drain, one screen, one bagatell table, &c., three dozen bot
tles, four glass jars, four picture frames, four tin measures, lev
ied on as the property of Chamae Newberry to satisfy a fi fa
from Muscogee Inferior court in favor of Michael Woodruff, |
against said Newberry.
Also the Brick Yard on the norih side of the Lumpkin road,
near or on the line of the East Commons of the city of Columbus,
containing six acres, more or less, levied on as the property of
Wm. B. fßobinson to satisfy a fi fa from Muscogee Superior
Court, in favor of Valencourt H. Cady against Wm, 8., Bird F.
and Nathaniel Me Robinson and Seaborn Jones owners of the
steamer Oceola. Property pointed out bv Seaborn Jones.

Tuggle, the first of said notes dated sometime during the
first of this inst., due the 25th December, 1854, for the sum
of two hundred and fifty dollars, and payable to Wm.
Mainer or bearer ; the second of said notes dated as first
aforesaid and due the 25th of December, 1855, payable to
Wm. Mainer or bearer, for the sum of two hundred and
fifty dollars ; the third of said notes dated as first aforesaid
and due the 25th December, 1856, payable to Wm. Mainer
or bearer for the sum of two hundred and twenty dollars.
One note on Mastin D. Hendrick, dated and due in Janua
ry or February last past, payable, to Wm. Mainer or bear
er, for the sum of one hundred and forty two dollars and
seventy five cents, with a credit of forty seven dollars and
eighty two cts., endoorsed on the back. One on Henry Day,
dated sometime during the first of the year of 1850, and due

for seventy-five dollars. One note on James Anderson
Butler, dated about the same time of the last aforesaid note,
and due the 25th December, 1851, for fifty dollars. One
note on B. F. Brooks for five dollars, due the 25th Decem

two notes that the subscriber had paid offfor himself and Benj
Mainer, security, dated the 12th day ot iMarch, 1852,
one of said notes was due the 25th of last December, and
the other due the 25th of December, 1853, payable to John

lars each. One note on Haywood Mainer, due the 25th

STOLEN or strayed from the sub-criber near C'uthbert, Ran
„ dolph county, Ga., on the night of the 13th inst_ a sorrel
mare MULE of ordinary size, about four years old ; mane neat
ly reached, her tail was shaved and swabbed last spring and has
ffrown three or sou-inches. Paid mule has a grey cr roan spot
three inches wide and about four inches long between her eyes
and nose. Arty information concerning said mule will be thank
fully received, or if stolen, I will pay twenty-five dollars for the
mule with sufficient evidence to convict the thief. Address.
