HOLLOW A Y'S OIN TMEN T.
A MOST MIRACULOUS CURE OF BAD LEGS.
AFTER 43 YEARS’ SUFFERING.
Extract of a letter from ]\/r. William Galpin, of /0 St.
Mary's street, Weymouth, dated 151/t ALay, lbal.
To Professor Holloway : . . j
Sir: Attheagt of eighteen my wife (who is now sixty one)
caught a violent cold, whicli settled in her legs, and ever since that |
time they have been more or less sore, and greatly inflamed, j
Her agonies were distracting, and for months together she was .
deprived entirely of rest and sleep. Every remedy that medical j
men advised was tried, but without effect: her health suffered
severely and the state of her legs was terrible. 1 had often read j
vour advertisements, and advised her to try your Pills and Omt- |
incut: and, as a la-t resource, after every other remedy had prov- J
ed useless.she consented to do so. Site commenced six weeks
ago, and strange to relate, is now in good health. Her legs are ,
painless, w ithout seam or scar, and her sleep sound and untils- ;
turbed. Could vou have wittier ed tlit- sufferings ot my wile
during the lad forty three years, and contrast them with her ore :
sent enjoyment of health, you would indeed feel delighted in ;
having been the means of so greatly alleviating the sufferings ot ;
a fellow creature. (Signed) Wh.Galh*.

To Professor Holloway : ~

result of two or three different accidents at Gas Works: accom
panied bv scorbutic systoms. 1 bad recourse to a variety of
medical advice, without deriving any benefit, and was even told
that the leg must be amputated, yet, in opposition to that opinion,
your Pills and Ointment have effected a complete-cure in so short
a time, that lew who had not witnessed it would credit the fact.

This valuable medicine, which has become celebrated for the
j number of extraordinary cures effected through its agency, has
| induced the proprietors,’ at the urgent request of their friends, to
( offer it to the public, which they do with the utmost confidence
j in its virtues and wonderful curative properties. The following
; certificates, selected from a large number, are, however, stronger
j testimony than the mere word of the proprietors; and are all
■ from gentlemen well known in their localities, and of the highest
respectability, many ot them now residing in the city of Rich
mond, Virginia.
F. Hoyden, Esq., of the Exchange Hotel, Richmond, known

the diseases for which it is recommended, with the most aston

Ague and Fever — Great Cure —1 hereby certify, that for

case. Beaver Dam, near Richmond. Va. John Longden.
C. B. Luck, Esq., now in tin city of Richmond, and tor many
years in the Post Office: has such confidence in the astonishing
efficacy of Carter’s Spanish Mixture, that he has bought upwards
of 50 bottles, which he has given away to the afflicted. Mr.
: Luck says he has never known it to fail w hen taken according
| to directions.
Dr. Minor, a practising physician, and formerly of the City
j .Hotel, in the city of Richmond, says he has witnessed in a num
ber of instances the effects of Carter’s Spanish Mixture which
j were most-truly surprising. He says in a case of consumption
dependent on the liver, the good effects were wonderful indeed.
Samuel M. Drinker, of the firm of Drinker At Morris, Rich

use of two bottles of Carter’s Spanish Mixture.
Great cure ok Scrofula. —The editorsof the Richmond Re

“Oounded by no geographical lines, the reputation of Barry’s
i J Tricopherous pervades the Union. The sales ofthe arti

! belief. Professor Barry, alter a careful examination of bis sales’

j quantities of iroin a half gross upward, during the year 1852,
i was within a trifle of 950,(100.
It is unnecessary to present at length the ex idence of the won j

nished such an endorsement as this. The cheapness ot the article I
and the explanations given ot its chemical action upon the hair,

BLUE STORE, SIGN OF THE NEGRO AND MORTAR.
A. 77 W est side Broad street, Columbus, Ga-
THE undersigned would respectfully announce to their friends of Columbus, and to the public
generally, that having purchased the entire interest of Messrs. Gesnkk & Peabody in the
store well known as the BLUE DRUG STORE, will continue the business under the name
| and style as above.
This intimate connection with and close application to the business for several years, which
! ,ias B iven tlieni much practical experience—united with a determination to be close and vigilant
as well as prompt and active in their attention to its duties and requirements—will, they hope, be
! ,l sufficient guarantee to the public of their efficiency in the business, and that it will be properly
i conducted. Determined to deal in none but WARRANTABLE ARTICLES, they hope by
such means to merit and receive a liberal share ol public patronage.
I insicians and Merchant dealers doing business in the country, will find it greatly to their in
teiest to ctili and examine their ample stock before purchasing elsewhere; for,in addition to fresh
and well selected articles, they offer inducements in prices, which they are confident will prove
perfectly satisfactory.
In their extensive arrangements for the proper advancement ofthe business, they have not been
unmindful of what would be to the interest and convenience ofthe City Physician’s, but, in view of
their accommodation and for their especial benefit, have fitted up and neatly arranged a room—
with all necessary apparatus attached-to be devoted exclusively to Chemical and Pharmaceutical
operations. In this effort ot theirs to relieve them of the trouble and vexation to which they have
been so long subjected, in preparing their own prescriptions, or in having them properly attended
to, they think they ought and believe they will sustain them.
Both or either of them will be present at all times (except from 10 o’clock A. M. until 2 o’clock
. - . on Sundays) io attend carefully and promptly to this department of the business—and in
no instance will any but known extra Medicines be used in the preparation of prescriptions.
