THE Petition of Ear y Varner shows .that heretofore, to wi!:
on ihe Ist dayiof August 1810,your petitioner was possessed
(as oi his own rig. it and property) of a promissory note made
by David Skelton, the (late whereof was the 15th of October
1837. That said note was for ih -sum of eight hundred dol
lars, p-jyable to 3 our petitioner o. becrer, aud du •on the Ist
day of January, 18.18, and given under the hand and se<il of said
David Skelton; (a copy of which said note is heriftito annex
ed) That said note has been lost or destroyed so that it cannot
be found, the same being due and unpaid. Wherefore, your
petitioner prays the establishing of the copy note hereunto an
nexed in lieu ol the original so lost or destroyed, and as in du
ty bound your petition-r sha’l ever pray,&c.
