TOOMSBORO NEWS Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Bush have re turned to their home in Valdosta aft er a pleasant stay here as guests of their relatives, Mrs. W. A. Hall and Mr. W. H. Freeman. Herbert Jordon spent last week end in Savannah. Mrs. Paul Hughes of Texas and Mrs. W. C. Troutmore of Tennille were guests of Mrs. H. D. Hughes and Mrs. H. E. Stephens last week. Dr. and Mrs. D. Stone and children were the guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Cason, Sunday. Margaret Colline has returned from a visit to South Georgia. Judge Chambers of Macon is the guest of his sori, F. B. Chambers. Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Rawls, Mr. and -Mrs. I. G. Prim, and little son, of Dublin; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Shiver and children and Evans Bruner of Bradenton, Fla., were guests of Mrs. T. H. Bridwell and Mr. C. N. Bruner last week. Miss Maybell Bridwell spent Tues day in Macon. The B.Y.P.U. social at the hotel Friday evening was greatly enjoyed. After out-doors games, delicious sandwiches and iced punch were served. * Mrs. J. G. Collins will entertain the Mission Study class Tuesday aft ernoon, 4:30 o’clock. Mrs. L. R. Ca son is leader. Mr. and Mrs. Jones of Winston- Salem, N. C., returned to their home Sunday after a visit to their daugh ter, Mrs. J. T. Gragg. Mrs. Gragg and little daughter, Betty Allen, and Mrs. Wayne Gragg accompanied them home. Miss Lillie Hall is visiting her aunt, Mrs. J. T. Bush, in Valdosta. Mrs. L. M. Ware and little son have returned to their home in Au burn, Ala., after a pleasant stay here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Hall. Mrs. Maybell Bridwell left Thurs day for Augusta where she will be an attendant at the Owen-Drane wed ding. Mrs. Eula Peavy and daughter; Mrs. Bill and Mrs. A. S. Boone were visitors in town Saturday. Wilbur Bridwell of Bartow, Fla., is the guest of his grandmother, Mrs. T. H. Bridwell. Dr. and Mrs. S. F. Salter, Mrs.' Caldwell and Mr. Ray Salter of At lanta spent the week-end with Mrs. L. R. Cason. TWIGGS NEGRO JAILED ON WIFE MURDER CHARGE Lee Sams, Twiggs county negro, aged 35, was arrested and locked in the county jail last Friday charged with having murdered his wife with a smoothing iron. Sams lived on the farm of A. L. I Walters, nine miles west from Jeffer- I scnville. He is said to have become angered at his wife on account of her having been late in preparing a meal for him.
