He was also faithful to j • his family and loved by all who knew : him. He was forty nine years of age. I It in so hard to think of our dear hus band and father being gone never I more on this earth shall.l see his : sweet face, but do pray I shall see it : up yonder where trouble in no more. . I He had never joined any church but ! tho I feel like as honest and truthful • as he was that his soul is at rest. The funeral was held at the Gordon Baptist Church, Rev. Dewell conduct , qd—the services. His body was entered it the cemetary at Ramah Church where it will rest until the great re serrection when it will rise and shall ever be with the blessed Lord. Oh, may the Lord incline our hearts : to feel that this sad despensation was j for our. good; for‘we know He doeth i all things well. I thought how muck I was losing, I wanted him to be with us always. The more I think and study the deeper the mystery grows Hence my solution is: Lord we thank Thee for the life of such a precious nusband and father. He leaves a brok en hearted wife one Son and a host of relatives to mourn his death. This lovely one called hence by early doom, Came to show how sweet a flower in Paradise would bloom . ■We miss thee from our home dear Father, We miss thee from thy place. A shadow overour life is cast, We miss the sunshine of thy face. We miss thy kind and willing hand, Thy fond and earnest care. Our home is dark without thee, We miss thee everywhere. Weep not that his toils are over, Weep not that his race is run. Cod grant that we may rest as calmly. if. i. When our work like his m done. &1 then we yield with gladness pur father to him to keep, And rejoice in the sweet assurance he giveth his loved one sleep. : Farewell dear father sweet thy rest farewewell til in some happy place, ■ We shall behold thy sweet face. Tis oursto miss thee all our years I and tender memories of thee keep, I hours since our dear one has gone | For so lonely the house and sad the | but oh, a brighter home than ours in heaven is now his own. ~ , A precious one from us has gone, j A voice we loved is still. A place is vacant in our home, < • Which never never can be filled. God in his wisdom has recalled, I The boom his love had given. And though the body slumbers, ■ Here the soul is safe in heaven. s It is sad that one we cherish should j be taken from our home, ? ! But the joys that do not perish live in j memory alone. All the years we’ve spent together, I . All the happy golden hours. Shall be cherished in rememberance | Fragrant sweetest from memorys . flowers. Mr. ‘and Mrs. Will Porter, and daughter Lucile. We shall meet to part no more, On the resurrection morn. Though thy darling form lies. Sleeping in the cold and silent tomb. Thou shall have a glorious waking, When the blessed Lord doth come. We lost our darling, he has bid us all adiew, He has gone to live in heaven And his form is lost to view.
