She will tell stories from her book “Old Georgia Privies, an Ode to the Outhouse.” The meeting, including a covered-dish lunch, takes place at the First Baptist Church of Commerce. Long taught school 34 years, writes “The Road Runner,” a monthly feature for The Gwinnett Citizen, is a Lawrenceville historian and authored two books about Lawrencev ille. She has a knack for using humor in telling stories. The Jolly Agers is a group of 50-and-older individuals who meet for covered-dish lunch es and programs at noon the first Tuesday of each month. The First Baptist Church of Commerce is located at 1345 South Elm Street, Commerce. Easter Experience at Galilee set March 25 The Galilee Christian Church Women’s Ministry is hosting an Easter Experience at Galilee on Good Friday, March 25. The worship center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and attendees and families can experience through prayer and readings the last hours of Jesus’ time here on earth and what it means to the church today. Interested attendees are asked to sign-up for a 20-minute time slot at the Women’s Ministry table. Blacks Creek plans egg hunt Saturday Blacks Creek Baptist Church will be hav ing an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 26, for students sixth grade and under from 2-3:30 p.m. There will be snacks, egg hunt, games and prizes. Madison Street plans Holy Week services Madison Street Baptist Church has announced its schedule for the week. The church plans several Holy Week services. There will be no Wednesday activities this week. The church will host a Maundy Thursday service on Thursday March 24, with a Lord’s Supper service at 6:30 p.m. The Good Friday service will be Friday March 25, at 11:30 am. followed by a covered dish luncheon. The church will host several Easter Sunday services on Sunday March 27. These include: 7:30 a.m. sunrise service and breakfast, 9:30 a.m. Bible study and a 10:45 a.m. morning wor ship service. Homer United Methodist announces Easter Sunday plans Homer United Methodist Church, locat ed at the corner of Sycamore and Church streets in downtown Homer, has announced its schedule of services for Easter day. There will be a sunrise service at 7 a.m. (Banks Memorial Garden), followed by Eas ter breakfast at 8 a.m. (Don Stewart Hall, Homer UMC). The morning worship service will be at 9 a.m. There will be no Sunday school. The second morning worship service will be at 11 a.m. Rob Mabry, worship leader, will deliver the Easter sunrise message. The Rev. Jim McLendon will preach at both morning services. Little Country Church sets Easter events schedule The Little Country Church has announced its Easter weekend activities. These include: • Saturday, March 26,2 p.m. - annual Eas ter egg hunt for all ages with refreshments • Sunday, March 27, 7 a.m. - ‘Son’rise Ser vice on the Hill followed by breakfast in the fellowship hall. Maysville holding bluegrass gospel night Maysville United Methodist Church will hold its “Fourth Friday Night Bluegrass Gos pel Jubilee” on Friday, March 25, at 7 p.m. The event is intended to be all-gospel, all-acoustic music.
