Banks Golf
tourney set
for Saturday
The Banks County
Touchdown Club is host
ing its third annual golf
tournament at Chimney
Oaks on June 4.
The 18-hole Lauder
dale tournament begins
at 9 a.m. and consists of
teams of four. Registration
is $300 per team
Hole sponsorships are
available for $50.
All proceeds go toward
supporting the Banks
County football program.

BCPRD youth
football camp
starts June 13
The Banks County
Parks and Recreation
Department is hosting
its annual youth football
camp on June 13-15, at
Banks County High
School’s Leopard Stadi
um.
The camp is for chil
dren ages 7-and-up, and
will run from 9 a.m. to
11:30 a.m., daily.
The camp will be
instructed by BCHS head
coach Josh Shoemaker,
his staff, and former and
current players.
Registration costs $50
and includes breakfast
and lunch. Checks must
be made payable to the
BCHS Touchdown Club.
Leopard
hoops camp
set June 6-9
The Banks County High
School basketball pro
gram will host its annual
Little Leopards basketball
camp June 6-9 at the Banks
County Parks and Recre
ation Department gym.
The camp will be
instructed by Leopard
head coach Mike Cleve
land, and former and cur
rent BCHS players.
The camp will run from
9 to 11 a.m. daily.
Registration costs $60.
Breakfast and lunch will be
provided.

BCPRD
hosting
tennis camp
The Banks County Parks
and Recreation Depart
ment will host its annual
co-ed tennis camp on June
6-9.
The camp is instmcted
by coach Lisa Thomas and
runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
daily, at the BCPRD tennis
courts.
Registration costs $55
(checks made payable to
Lisa Thomas) for children
ages 7-and-up. Lunch will
be provided daily.

Dance camps coming up in June
The Commerce Parks
and Recreation Depart
ment, in conjunction with
the Commerce School of
Dance, will host two sep
arate dance camp ses
sions this summer.
The first session will
take place on June 20-24.
Children ages 3-5 will
participate in an Angelina
Ballerina-themed camp
from 10 a.m. to noon
daily. Kids ages 5-7 will
partake in the Dirt Road
Diva Camp (jazz steps to
country hits) from 12:30-
2:30 p.m. Children 8-and-
up will participate in the
Hip Hop course from 3-5
p.m.
The second dance
camp session is sched
uled for June 27 to July 1.
Children ages 3-5 will
join the Disney Princess
Ballet Camp scheduled
from 10 a.m. to noon,
daily. Children 6-9 years
old will be eligible for the
Girl Power Super Hero
Dance Camp from 12:30
to 2:30 p.m. Kids 8-and-
up will participate in the
Dirt Road Diva Camp
from 3-5 p.m. in session
two.
A routine will be per
formed for family and
friends on the last day
of each session. Daily
snacks will be provided
and crafts will be made
that focus on the theme
of each camp.
All camps will be
instructed by Kim Sellers
of the Commerce School
of Dance.

Banks County hosting
specialty kids camps
The Banks County
Parks and Recreation
Department is hosting
several specialty camps
through the summer.
Specialty camps
include:
•Baton Camp - The
BCPRD is hosting an
all-ages baton camp on
June 13-17.
The camp mns from 8
a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and
will be hosted by Betty
Rogers, along with major
ettes from Clemson Uni
versity and the University
of West Georgia.
Registration costs $85
and includes daily break
fast and lunch. To register,

• Zumba Kids Camp:
The BCPRD is hosting two
Zumba kids camp ses
sions this summer. The
first session is set for June
20-23, while the second
session is planned for July
18-21.
The camp is for chil
dren ages 6-12 and mns
from 8 a.m. to noon, daily
at the BCPRD gym. Reg
istration cost $60 per ses
sion.

• Fitness and Fun
Camp - The BCPRD is
hosting four sessions of
a fun and fitness camp
that will be instructed by
Reloaded Fitness.
Sessions are scheduled
for June 27-31, July 5-8,
July 11-15 and July 18-22.
Each session will mn from
8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and
registration costs $100
(includes breakfast and
lunch).
The camp is for kids
ages 5-11.

• Kids Fun Camp - The
BCPRD is hosting a Kids
Fun Camp on June 27-30,
from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.,
daily at the BCPRD gym.
The camp is for chil
dren aged 5-and-up, and
registration costs $40. The
camp will be instructed
by BCPRD staff members
and certified special edu
cation teacher, Kayla Dun
can.
Registration is available
on-site at the BCPRD.
Lady Tigers
hosting hoops
skills camp
The Commerce High
School girls’ basketball
team will host its annual
summer skills camp on
June 6-9 at the CHS gym.
The camp will be
instructed by Lady Tiger
head coach Brad Puckett
and current and former
Commerce High School
players. Georgia Southern
standout Mimi DuBose will
also return as a special
guest instructor.
The camp will mn from
9 a.m. to noon daily, and is
for girls in second through
eighth grades. Registration
costs $60.
The camp serves as a
fundraiser for the Com
merce girls’ basketball pro
gram.
Registration forms and
checks are due by June
3. On-site registration will
be accepted if prior noti
fication of participation is
given. An early head count
is needed for the proper
number of T-shirts.
Athletes may bring
sports drinks or water as
needed. Snacks and water
breaks will be provided.
Participants must wear ten
nis or basketball shoes to
participate. Checks must
be made payable to Com
merce High School.

The CPRD is offering
multiple summer sports
camps through the months
of June and July.
Camps are:
•Camp Chaney Basket
ball Camp: A basketball
camp for girls and boys
who are rising third grad
ers through eighth graders.
The camp will take place
June 13-17 from 10:00 a.m.
to noon at the Commerce
Middle School gym. Regis
tration runs through June
13 and costs $40 for Com
merce residents and $60 for
non-residents.
•Camp Chaney Tennis
Camp: A tennis camp for
boys and girls who are in
third through eighth grades.
The camp is set for July
11-15 at the American Vet
erans Memorial Park tennis
courts, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
daily. Registration mns
through July 11 and costs
$40 for Commerce resi
dents and $60 for non-res
idents.
•Tiger Baseball Camp:
A baseball camp for boys
ages 9-14. The camp is
scheduled for June 27-30
(July 1 for rain date) from
9:30 to 11:30 a.m. daily. Reg
istration mns through May
23 and costs $65.
• Mighty Mites Soccer
Camp: A soccer camp for
boys and girls ages 4-11. The
camp is scheduled for June
6-9 from 9:00 a.m. to noon,
Monday through Thursday.
Registration runs through
May 30 and costs $45 for
Commerce residents and
$65 for non-residents.
