She weighed seven pounds, seven ounces and was 21 inches long. She joins Fate, 4, and Hayden Thomas, 5. She is the grand daughter of Sam Baxter and Joe and Shirley Anderson. Tyson is defensive coordina tor for Jackson County foot ball and assistant wrestling coach and Stacey is assistant softball coach at Jefferson City Schools. Special prayers for the family of Levi Chambers and the class of 2017. A benefit for Chandler Wurtz Benefit will be held at the Skate A-Rama USA, 652 Hospital Road, Commerce, on September 17 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. They will be doing a fish fry plate sale in combination with the skat ing event. Plates are $7 and will include fried fish, hush- puppies, chips, apple sauce and baked beans. This little girl is 8 months old and suf fering from Staphylococcus Scalded Skin Syndrome. Arson tipline info offered Insurance and fire com missioner Ralph Hudgens wants to remind Georgians that the state has a toll-free arson hotline sponsored by his office and the Georgia Arson Control Program. The phone number for the tip line is 1-800-282-5804. Callers to the hotline will be eligible for rewards of up to $10,000 if they provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist. According to Hudgens, callers and reward recipients may choose to remain anon ymous. In 2013, arsonists caused $1.68 million in property damage in Georgia. The 3rd annual “Scare crow Spooktacular” spon sored by Keep Banks County Beautiful will be held Satur day October 22, from 4 until 7 p.m. It will be held at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Downtown Homer, where you can set up a scarecrow that rep resents your business, club, hobby or family. “If you have a business along Historic Hwy. 441, feel free to put your scarecrow in front of your business,” Les lie George with Keep Banks County Beautiful states. “All scarecrows must include recycled or reused items. You can use props such as bales of hay chairs, farm equipment or other items that tie into your scarecrow’s theme.” The event will also include activities for children, includ ing face painting and fun hair-dos, visits with Smokey the Bear and making ani mal footprints. Home Depot representatives will be at the event to help children create a project they can take home or they can bounce in a bounce house. The Sheriffs Office will be providing free ID cards for children, and the family can go on a hayride. Free books will be provided by the Banks County Library along with other activities.
