Mr. Anderson was bom in Great Falls, S.C., the son of the late A. B. Ander son Sr. and Nelle Gray Anderson. Mr. Ander son owned and oper ated the Commerce Pawn Shop, Anderson Jewelry, and was a member of the Winder Moose Lodge. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his brother, A.B. Anderson Jr.; and sister, Vivian Anderson. Survivors include his daugh ter and son-in-law, Lynn and Randy McKinney, Jefferson; granddaughters, Sydney Rob erts, Athens, Madyson McKin ney, and Morgan McKinney and grandson, Maverick McKinney, all of Jefferson; and two neph ews. (Mr. Jack) Anthony ‘Jack’ Anthony, a lifelong resident of the Center Commu nity in Jackson County, passed away quietly on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, following a brief illness. He was 93 years old. Mr. Anthony was a member of the Center United Methodist Church his entire life. He retired from a long career with the Georgia Power Company. He was a veteran of World War II, with his service in Okinawa and Korea during the war, and was a member of the Albert Gordon Post 56 of the American Legion in Jefferson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maude and Fred Anthony; a brother, Francis Anthony; and a sister, June Anthony Elder. Survivors include his son, Jerry Anthony, Athens; daugh ter, Jane Anthony Carroll (Dave), Vidalia, and grandchil dren, Matt Phillips (Jodi) and Ashley Phillips Perry (Billy); one great-grandson Luke Perry, all of Vidalia; and sister, Bennie Anthony Heard of the Center Community. Mr. Anthony was married for many years to the late Von- nie Johnston of Dallas, Texas. Her children, Cindy, Duff, Pam, Julie, Mark and Mike have remained very special in his life. While the last year was dif ficult due to several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, he was able to see his daughter, Shannon Van Duren, graduate from college in May, as well as spend this past Christmas with his family. He was surrounded by his family at the end. Robert was preceded in death by his father, H. W. Van Duren; and sister, Bonnie Van Duren. Rev erend Major Taylor served in World War II and in Korea, as well as Chaplain of the Methodist Chapel of Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. Bob was preceded in death by sisters, Lucy Pearl, Alice Neil, and Dora. He served briefly as an Air man in the United States Air Force. Bob loved spending time in nature, visiting zoological parks and historic museums, looking at train photos, studying math, physics, astronomy, philosophy, languages, and listening to clas sical music. He also enjoyed talking and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his daugh ter, Lynn Taylor Janeway and husband Alex, Knoxville Tenn.; son, Thomas Eldon Taylor and wife Courtney; and first grand son Tatum, Ft Collins, Colo.; nephews, William R.
