Achieve mastery of subjects
Several students in Robbin Brown’s kindergarten class at Commerce
Primary School have completed 750 minutes or more of instructional activ
ities on Classworks with a mastery of 80 percent or higher. Classworks is a
computer-based instructional program that provides mini-lessons, games
and quizzes in the areas of reading and math. Left to right are Grayson Duke,
Takari Barksdale, Regan Lyons, Naya Jennings and Annie Brown.

Healthcare booth among popular stops
Northridge Medical Center’s exhibit at the Sept. 23 College and Career Fair
drew a crowd of students who said they were “exploring” career options.
Lee Renna, the medical center’s director of respiratory therapy, talks with

dreds of high school students from across Jackson County who participated
in the event. The second annual event was sponsored by the Jackson County
Area Chamber of Commerce Education Committee.

mation cards at the Toccoa Falls College exhibit at the Sept. 23 College and
Career Fair, which drew students from both Jackson County School System
high schools, as well as those from Commerce and Jefferson City. Ronnie
Stewart, an admissions counselor from the school, said he was pleased with
the turnout and the student interest. “There are a lot of good fits - for students
and for the school,” he said.

Sealed Bids, for furnishing all labor, tools, and equipment necessary for approx
imately 48 miles of striping, signing and markings on various county roads will
be received by the owner at the office of the Banks County Commissioner, 150
Hudson Ridge Rd, Suite One, Homer, Georgia 30547 until 10:00 a.m. local time
on October 21, 2016 and then on the same date at the Banks County Commis
sioners Office at 150 Hudson Ridge, Suite One, Homer, GA 30547 at 10:00 a.m.

and to readvertise, and also to accept the bid deemed best over-all (as determined
by Banks County) which may include parameters other than lowest dollar price.
