BCPS second graders recognized
BCPS kindergarteners recognized
Banks County Primary School recognized the Little
Leopards for November. Kindergarteners shown with

EJCHS band "superior/ color guard best
The East Jackson Comprehensive High School
Marching Band received “superior” trophies at the
Creekview Classic Band Competition in Canton
Georgia. This was the final performance for
seniors. The band was within 1.5 points of finish
ing in the top three at the competition. The dance
line received a first place in class AAA.
EJCHS among tops in graduation rate
East Jackson Compre
hensive High School and
Jefferson High School had
the top graduation rates
in the county. The Geor
gia Department of Educa
tion announced rates last
week.
Both schools had high
er than a 95 percent 2016
graduation rate. EJCHS
had a 95.3 percent rate,
up from 93.5 last year. JHS
had the highest rate in the
county at 96.1, also up
from 93.5 last year.
Commerce High
School was above the 90
percent mark, coming
in at 92.3 percent. But
the school saw a slight
dip from last year, down
from 94.3 percent.
Jackson County Com
prehensive High School
was the only school in
the county that had a
rate lower than 90 per
cent. The JCCHS grad
rate totaled 85.8 percent,
down from 89.5 percent
the prior year.
All schools in the coun
ty were above the state
average (79.1 percent).

Farms after studying about the life cycle of a
pumpkin.
