At a meeting of the Board of
Directors of the White County
Bank everything was found in
good shape. After investigating
earnings it was unanimously voted

. When a man buys a pair of
shoes, he does not throw them out
in the streets to be run over and
ruined by passinp vehicles, yet a
man will let his cattle get on the
railroad track and be killed by a
passing locomotive and destroy a
hide that will make ^from ten to
fourteen pair* of shoes. The
Council'of Defence, in its campaign
for the conservation of Food and
Leather, points out that it would
be better business to keep stock off
the railroad tracks.
