American Legion News,
This post is holding her own
with the other posts in Georgia ac¬
cording to the report from Adjt.
McMullen.
Past State Commander Edgar B.
Dunlap said recently that White
County Post was one of the best
in the state.
The next meeting of \\ Lite
County Post No. 12 will be at
Cleveland. A big attendance is re¬
quested.
Your commander has been sig¬
nally honored by the President of
the Georgia Press Association by
being asked to make an address at
a luncheon in the Savannah Motel,
April 25th, where the press of this
state will be the honored guests of
the American Legion.
ASBESTOS BUZZING
Rev. II. II. Humphries conduct¬
ed a Bible class at Yonah last week.
School was out at Yonah last
Friday at Yonah. Ohe teacher
and children spent the day sight
seeing and picnicing on Yonah
Mountain.
So they have had “An Old
Maid’s Convention.” It would be
fine to have “An Old Bachelor’s
Convention,” when the Spring
showers are over. The first Satur¬
day in August would be a good
time. By that time the weather
will be warm enough so they can
all get out.
The peach crop will be scarcer
than common here. The cold wave
of tiie last ten day* damaged sever¬
al of them but it is hoped there
w ill be plenty; tj£ apples.
George lleye who made excava¬
tions in Nacoochee some ten years
ago was in Atlanta a few days ago.
And while there declared that
Georgia was in need of an Indian
Museum as a place to keep relics
and Indian folk lore. And he
stated that these mountains and
valleys were interesting in relics
and history.
Eat, drink and be merry for to¬
morrow some sucker may have
your place. The most of us think
the other fellow’s work is easifcr
than .ours, but there is no easy
places. The king with his dys¬
pepsia envies the tramp with his
ainozing appetite. The millionaire
would like to be the happy miller.
The most of us are going to do
something great in the future but
they are content to follow the same
routine year after year.
Some of our high school students
are making a success studying the
inale boll weevil, but the female
weevil has them stumped.
Some have plowed deep and on
a level and have hit a rock and
now what are they going to do to
help solve this? They will no
doubt get plenty theory but what
they want is some psactice.
Some who have never fanned
only in books can give pou plenty
of theory but cannot give you prac¬
tice mixed with common sense.
They could write a book on farm¬
ing that would read like a
YVe bear much about a big time
hut back in ye old days they had
what was called a jubilee every
fiftieth year ann everybody rested.
This expresses our idea of a good
time. Why not have a jubilee now ?

There was no services Sunday
night due to bad weather.
There will be a special Easter
program given by all the classes of
the Sunday School, including the
Brotherhood Class. Each class
will have apart in the program
and will be interesting and worth
while coming to hear.
We hope to have Col. B. 1 ’.
Gilliard to the League Sunday
night.
We sincerely wish more people
would take interest in the League
and prayer services. Especially
do we wish that the older folks
would take more interest in the
prayer services. If we would really
think more how helpful these ser¬
vices are to us we would take more
interest, but we don’t use our heads.
It is reasonable to believe that an
all-wise Creator gave us heads and
brains inside of them in the hopeful
expectation that we would do our
best to use them to good advantage.
A few examples of how people
fail to use their heads will show
quite clearly why some people get
ahead in the world and others do
not, why some people have a lot of
trouble and are continually in “hot
water,” why others are always la¬
menting their “tough luck,”

CIRCUIT NOTES
Rain and t on si 1 i t is is a pretty
bad combination. We could not
have preached owing to the con¬

have answered present if it had not

have said, that you are only a lias!)
iti the pan, all they have to do is
to stand by and watch the move¬
ment hie. And the strangest thing
about it is that good Christian
people will be tickled to death if
you fail.
We understand from infoimation
received that a non-sectarian Men’s
Class has been started in Nacoochee
Valley, which meets every Satur¬
day night. From our heart we
say : God’s speed, and we are still
hopeful ol organizing a Brother¬
hood also.
While we are on the subject
