* Visitors anti tourists passing
through our section should bt
treated with courtesy and consider
at ion. When we meet these folk
we don’t know who they are not
what they may mean to us.
Only recently, accordingly
the Sunday American, a visitor
from London, England, Mr, Tetley
Jones, head of the world’s largest
tea business, and a world traveler
who passed through Cleveland
puiti “our mountains” a very higl
compliment. He had visited
Switzerland and most of tin
beautiful spots in the world |but be
made the statement that never, in
ull his travels had lie viewed a
scene more beautiful than that
along the road south of Blairsvilie,
that it was the most magnificent
scenry in tfie world.
These tourists mean much to om
town and county, not only in a
financial way, but they help to “tell
the world of our interests.”
Should the legislature increase
the gas tax in Georgia t cent,
$25,000,000 would bo available for
paving roads' in two years.
An eugineeringing expert has
taken a map of the state and shown
what this amount would do to¬
ward paving. His estimate was
that with $25,000,000 every trunk
line highway 1 u Georgia could be
paid without bonding Georgia. Jl
the roads were paved intrastate as
planned, Atlanta would be con¬
nected with every principal city in
the stale.
