ASBESTOS BUZZING
Just from the Mountains.
They have begat] to gather ap¬
ples at the Sam Tate orchards.
Mrs. Doc Westmoreland and
daughter were shopping in Gaines
ville Tuesday.
Messrs Mark Matheson andPince
Burch, of Helen and Hiuwassee,
respectfully, wete here Saturday,
Gquinociial gale was on time
this year. It generally comes in
September and sometimes is delay¬
ed until October.
Some of our people are disturb¬
ed with seven year itch. Tough on
a^fellow with no hands to scratch.
Fodder pulling is now being de
la^fed by’ a gale that has been blow¬
ing for four days right from Clark
esville.
Chickens always come home to
roast, especially when the east
wind is constantly howling.
At this time of the year the old
cow looks over the fence and sees
the astor and golden rod. She
thinks they are good.
Mr. and Mrs Zuber,ofW iliiams
port, Penn., have been .vuutingM r.
and Mrs. Bob Roberts for several
days. Mr. Zuber worked quite a
while for the Williamsport Grii
and has been Chief of Police fot
the past no years and can now re¬
tire on half pay if he wishes. This
is nis second visit here and lie is
mere than pleased with this won¬
derful climate. He seems to have
the spirit of William Penn, who
found the colony of Pennsylvania,
and who the Indians dearly loved
It is told that no person was evei
molested while in Quaker tires:,.
He has gone through many hard¬
ships and liiis is one reason why
he has a feeiing for Jiis fellowinan.
A latiiudinarian in his views fund
no two by four. You never know
a man for certain until you have
dealings with him. Distal.ce lends
encliatment to the vie*'.
You wonder at the airplanes
overhead, the great mogul that
draws Hie chain of cars and the
great white way in our cities. But
the human hand is the greatest arm
most perfect piece of mechanism
that has ever been constructed.
Who lias not felt the force ot tin
gentle hands? Whose hands are
the most beautiful?—those that are
the most useful. They have tried
to rule the world by force and arms
but the time will come when they
call on the gentle hand Then the
lion will lie down witli the lamb;
the swords will be beat into p'.ow
sheares, and you will hear n.
mourning of the whangdoodle.
We had the pleasure ot going tc
Gainesville the other day with Mr
Ben Trotter. It was the Hist tiim
in 25 months, 8 days, 48 minutes
and 45 sec ones.
