and larger, and we feel that our
Commissioners have used every ef¬
fort to relieve this situation, but
we wish lo urge upon them a more
strict economy in the handling of
the county’s business so that we
can soon be out of debt.
l'lie law requires certain means
and methods for the holding of an
eleclion under the Australian lJil
ioting system and many of the dis¬
tem and many of the districts ®f
the county are not prepared to
properly hold an election under
this law because of the lack of
equipment, and «e recommend
that tiie Commissioners provide in
each district the necessary booths
and etc. for this purpose.
We have elected as a finance
committee to report to the next

Kytle, Chits. Skelton and B A.
Skelton.
We have appointed W. R. Led¬
ford, H. S. Nix, W. J. Presley, C.
L. Hamilton and W. H. Clark as

fer with our Senator and Repre

creation of the office of a purchas¬
ing Agent for -aid county, whose
duty it shall be to keep in a proper
ledger all receipts and disburse¬
ments, revenues and expenditures
of the county, and that this record
be balanced at the end of month so
as to show the exact financial status
of the county, and that this record
be placed with some officer of the
county, and that this record be
placed with some officer of the
county on file so that any citizen
who so desires can inspect and ex
amine the Stine, and that this led¬
ger be placed before each Grand
j-;wy so; that they can trio 'e readily
and accurately keep informed as to
our business affairs,
We recommend that the Corn
mi.-,sioners retain the services of
our County Agent.
This body wishes to urge upon
our Tax Collector to proceed at
once for the collection of all back
tax fi t is and unpaid taxes due for
many years past, and that he avail
hiinseit ot the law provided for this
matter and either collect all unpaid
taxes or make the proper accovnt
ing for the same, and that an in
solvent and defaulters list of tax¬
payers be published a provided by
law.
We have been informed 1l1.1t
Mary Lou Nix and Nell Nix have
kindly agreed lo write a 111 story ol
White County without cost to the
county, and as this is a valuable
service offered to us, vve wish to
thank them for this offer.
We have fixed the per diem of
ill jururs and baliff- at |>i 50 for
the ensuing year.
We recommend that our County
Com nrssijners purchase wood
from our own citizens, instead ol
ouy ing coal from out of the county,
is we believe this wouM be much
cheaper and certainly more helpful
te many of our own people.
We recommend that our Fore
