White county’s ivc nnmendafion
for adjustments in the Bankhead
bill are us follows: The White
County Cotton Co . nittee is

now stands renders yreal injus

They have asked 11:, • each farmer
receive at least one thousand
pounds of tax free lint cotton after
which his reduction -ill he made
in the same propm 1 ion as other
large cotton producers.
As , the , Agriculture . Adjustment ...
Administration set-' the cotton
situat ion, cot ton production
be held within ten or twelve mil
lion bales for (935. The county
committee does not believe that
the small farmer who produces a
small quanity of cotto should be
reduced in the same p-oportion as
the large furniei uw’i tier he re
ceceives an exemption of one
thousand pounds of mt cotton tax
free. The small i •niters have
never contributed to this over-j
production. Had «'• .- farmer ............ held •
bis production down to his home !
needs we would ha-. • never had a
surplus of cotton. T. is the large
Cotton producer who tries to specu
late and make money out of cotton
production rather tin;, to make u
living that caused the great carry
over of cotton. It i ’t rigiit for
the small farmer to Ha forced to
sacrifice his actual 1 -ssities.iaxe

the expense of bis neighbors exis

These recomme; vions haw
