the laws of this State under the name WHITE
COUNTY HISTORICAL & CIVIC IMPROVE¬
MENT MEMBERSHIP CORPORATION for a
period of thirty-five (36) years, with principal
office at such place in White County, Georgia,
as its directors may from time to time deter

corporation is to lease, buy, preservd and im¬
prove buildings and locations with historical
significance, to operate recreational and other
facilities for the improvement of White Coun

The petition of TOM MAUNEY, FRANK
RUSSELL, CLYDE DIXON, LEE SMITH, J.
L. NIX, C. E. BARRETT and CLYDE TURN
ER hereinafter called Petitioners, respectfully
shows:
1.
Petitioners desire for themselves, their as¬
sociates and successors to be incorporated
under the name of “First Baptist Church of
Cleveland, Inc.” for a term of thirty-five
years.
2 .
Petitioners show that the church has al¬
ready been established in Cleveland, Georgia
and that the principal office and place of busi¬
ness of this corporation will be in Cleveland,
White County, Georgia. Petitioners are the
present Board of Trustees of said church and
the P. O. Address of each petitioner is Cleve¬
land, Georgia.
3.
The object and purpose of the corporation is
to enforce good order, receive donations, make
purchases and effect all alientations of reality
and personality, and to promote the cause of
the Christian Religion. The general nature
of the busings to be transacted by the corpora¬
tion, ia the maintenance and operation of a
Baptist Church.
4.
The corporation is to be non-profit and with¬
out capital stock.
5.
The corporate powers desired are all of the
powers and all of the privileges enumerated
in Sections 22-1827 and 22-1870 and in Chapter
22-18 and 22-19 of the Code of Georgia as
amended and as contained in the act of the
General Assembly of Georgia approved Janu¬
ary 28, 1938. (Georgia Laws 1937-38 Extra Ses¬
sion, Page 214, as amended and all the pow¬
ers and privileges therein contained are made
a part of this petition to the same extent as
if the same were set out in full).
WHEREFORE, petitioners pray to be in¬
corporated under the name and style aforesaid
with all the rights, powers, privileges, and
immunities herein set forth, and such addi¬
tional rights, powers and privileges as may be
necessary, proper of incident to the conduct of
the business aforesaid, and as may be inherent
in or allowed to like corporations under the
laws of the State of Georgia as they now exist
or may hereafter exist.
