The Weather
BY E. H. SIMS
Do people’s corns and bunions
as well as ladies’ hair serve as
weather forecasters?
Yes, they d«. When pressure sud
denly lowers, it affects the tissue’
ot the body, and often this i»
quickly noticed by those with corns
or bunions. Women can qui f e of
ten sense the coming of rain by
observing the way their hair acts.
Not only do corns and buDions
become sensitive with the falling
of the ba ometer, but people with
calcium deposits, suffering from
arthritis, and others, can «ense a
change in the weather when the
glass falls.
Animals can sometimes sense
t ip approach of rain or bad
v -ather also, usually because of
the same general reasons, so the
old mule who always acted dif¬
ferent immediately before s rain
according to the fanwr —
might really have done just that.
Almost always, people are more
enor otic and vigorous whpn a coo'
high-pressure air mass is over
h -ad. They feel better. Salesmee
will find selling opportunities po
tonfially better in high-pressure
coed weather period.’
She's A Tough Lady!
MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — Spec
tutors stare and county engineers
attack her with fire hoses, but the
30-for t-high nude pink lady won’t
come down.
The painting of a voluptious
young woman was discovered last
weekend on stone 100 feet above
a tunnel entrance four miles north
of Malibu Beach.
She draws raves from the pub¬
lic but the road commissioner
said she would be a hazard to driv¬
ers.
If paint remover or sandblasting
fails to remove the water-resistant
paint, officials said, the lady will
be given a modest coating of paint.
