themillennews.com The Millen News Wednesday, July 17, 2024 - Page 5 OBITUARIES Terry Parker Williams, Sr. Terry Parker Williams, Sr., 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Bom on January 3,1950, in Millen, Georgia, Terry lived a life marked by dedication, generosity, and love. He graduated from Jen kins County High School and was a member of West Millen Baptist Church. A lifelong dairy farmer, Terry’s hard work and passion for agricul ture were central to his identity. After retiring, he continued to share his expertise by working with Coble Dairy for several years. Beyond his professional life, Terry found joy in the simple pleasures of gardening, fishing, and hunting. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Terry’s life was characterized by his selflessness and his will ingness to put the needs of others before his own. His generosity and loving nature left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was a devoted husband to Debbie Holmes Williams, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. Together, they raised two loving children, Terry P. Williams, Jr. (Meghan) and Ashley W. Powell (Jonathan), who blessed them with two cherished grandchildren, Rylee L. Cook and Polli Renn Powell. Terry is also survived by his siblings, Arnold Williams (San dra) of Augusta, Betty Crosby (Richard) of Yorba Linda, CA, Kenneth (Kenny) Williams (Julie) of Millen, Lorene Blackburn (Raymond) of Millen, and Gloria Martin (Anthony) of Millen. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and sib lings, Peggy Becton, L.C. Williams, Jr., Roy Williams, Robert Williams, Charles Williams, and W.T. Williams. Terry’s memory will live on through his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Visitation was held at the home of Terry and Debbie, located at 625 Charlie Jones Road, Millen, Georgia 30442, on Sunday, July 14, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Services were held Monday, July 15 at 11 a.m. at West Millen Baptist Church, with graveside services following immediately. Reverend Bob Crosby and Reverend Cam Wiggins officiated. Pallbearers were his nephews. Jermie C. Allen, Jr. Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Jermie C. Allen, Jr., age 84, of Millen, on July 09,2024 at his home. Memorial services for Mr. Al len will be conducted Friday July 19, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Durden- Hudson Funeral Directors, Pee- bles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Pastor Butch Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Elam Baptist Church Cemetery in Millen. A Jenkins County resident, Jer mie was bom in Millen, Georgia to Mr. Jermie C. and Merriam Williams Allen, Jr., After gradu ating Swainsboro High School, Jermie went on to further his education in a trade school in Americus, Georgia. He was an aircraft mechanic for Northwest Airlines, which is now Delta, for many years. He held both a multi-engine and a rotor craft pilots’ license. Jermie loved working with and on his tractor and also enjoyed gardening. He was a member of CSA, (Confeder ate States of America), and always had an interest and love for history. He could read and retain a vast amount of information and was quite the historian. Mr. Allen was a member of the Deep Creek Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth Williams Allen; and a brother, James Kenneth Allen. Survivors include his son, John C. Allen of Millen; sister, Ann Allen Morgan of Peachtree City; brother, Benjamin Leary Allen (Sandra) of Millen; grandchildren, John Carlton Allen, Jr. Jeremy Carlton Allen, Justin Caleb Allen and Chris Rickerson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
